Supergirl: 9 Best Moments from ‘For Good’ (Season 3 Episode 12)
The past two episodes of Supergirl have exhibited a resemblance to the girl-powered show that it once was. Supergirl Season 3 Episode 12 “For Good” gives us a lot of the little things we love so much about the show.
Here are some of the best moments from “For Good.”
1. Doctor Alex
Fairly early on the episode, we get a classic Grey’s Anatomy reference, playing on Chyler Leigh’s role as Lexi Grey on the medical drama. But throughout “For Good” we get to see Alex be a total badass without having to get physical.
We love seeing Alex take down aliens and bad guys with whatever cool gun she has at the time or even her own bare hands. However, seeing her save lives with her brain alone, is pretty darn cool.
2. Lena faces off against Edge
These two have had a season-long rivalry and he continues to be well, the worst. Lena is a powerful woman he can’t control and the fact that she can and has outsmarted him drives him insane.
Edge is sleazy, greedy and just downright awful, so it’s always fun to see Lena stand up to him and win.

3. Kara, James, and Alex Protect Lena
Lena may not know Supergirl’s secret, but she’s absolutely part of her family, and that family looks out for its own. Kara and James stand next to Lena the moment she’s threatened by Edge, framing her like a pair of bodyguards ready to take a bullet for her.
Later they team up to save her when Edge attempts to kill her by having someone poison her coffee. Both of them risking their secret identities to make sure that Lena Luthor survives.

In a great Danvers sisters teamwork moment, Alex uses her incredible knowledge and swift thinking to figure out how to stop the poison with Kara.
Lena didn’t have a great family before, but she sure does now.
4. Space Dad Pep Talk
One of my favorite things about Supergirl is when someone who Kara looks up to imparts some heartwarming wisdom to her. Kara may be a superhero, but it’s always good to see her learn valuable life lessons from the wise people she surrounds herself with.
J’onn: There is great power in being the calm at the center of the storm, a beacon to show the way. Supergirl is here to remind us on Earth about what’s best in ourselves. That’s what’s most important.
J’onn’s pep talk is very reminiscent of Cat’s Season 1 words of wisdom and I’m here for it.
5. Sam has a found family too
Sam confiding in the girls about what’s been happening to her, and how she’s losing time is really good to see. I’m glad that Supergirl is showing the importance of female friendships and having a close group of people to lean on when it feels like your life is spinning out of control.
Hopefully, this girl gang is integral in getting Reign to release her clutches on Sam, as she remembers what’s most important to her: Ruby.
6. The return of Lillian Luthor
Lillian has been one of the more ruthless villains on Supergirl, but her motivations in this episode are purely selfish and motherly and it’s kind of amazing.
She comes back in “For Good” to kill Edge just because he’s been attempting to harm Lena. This instinct to kill for her family makes Lillian Luthor so much more dynamic and interesting to me.
It’s so exciting to see complex female villains who are also mothers. I may not always be down for Lillian Luthor’s story, but in this episode of Supergirl I’m 100% here for it. Plus like Winn said, that suit is pretty cool.
7. Lena turning down her mother’s call to the dark side
Yet again Supergirl has given Lena the opportunity to become a villain, and yet again she chooses to be good. I love this continuing thread with her character.

Over and over Lena has had the chance to fall into the dark legacy of her family, but every single time she chooses love, kindness, and doing what’s right. I love that Lena can still use her clever mind and ambition to get her way, without being evil.
8. Kara and the guard
This is a small moment in the episode overall, but it’s still one that made me grin and nod in solidarity. I love when Kara uses her super strength to put grown men in their place.
Kara: Don’t grab women, sweetheart.
9. The importance of friends
“For Good” as a whole focuses a lot on the importance of having friends and a found family of support. Both Lena and Sam needed their girls in this episode and it’s comforting to see them have that safety net to fall back on.
Lena: Friends are why I’m not a killer.
The superfriends are back in action, it may not be exactly the same, but the positive friendships on Supergirl are part of the reason we love it.
