TGIT fans, it’s time to get excited! A special Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder crossover event is in the works!

Twitter was buzzing this morning when Kerry Washington tweeted out a photo of a famous spot often seen on How to Get Away with Murder.

Adding fuel to the fire, Viola Davis tweeted out a photo of another famous spot often seen on Scandal just thirty minutes afterward.

Fans were so excited at the mere possibility of a crossover, but thankfully did not have to wait too long for confirmation.

Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes and How to Get Away with Murder creator Pete Nowalk confirmed by mirroring tweets confirming the #TGITCrossover for both drama series with a section highlight a scene in the script where Washington and Davis’ characters meet for the first time.

This is the first time Shondaland has had a major crossover, outside of the spinoff characters moving between Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice. ABC posted a release confirming the crossover will take place later this season on one #TGIT night.
