18 TV Premieres to Look Forward to in 2018

9-1-1, Black Lightning, iZombie, Lists, One Day at a Time, Shadowhunters, The 100, The Magicians, The Resident, Timeless, Veep, Wynonna Earp
7. Veep

Veep

Veep is set to go out on a high note. The series has been at the top of its game for its six seasons, and their swan song is sure to be phenomenal.

It will be interesting to see how they end Selina Meyers’ rise and fall and last attempt at presidential glory. The Dan and Amy baby reveal at the end of Veep Season 6 should bring lots of supplemental drama and comedy to the election race, as well

Veep Season 7 airdate has yet to be announced.

8. iZombie

iZombie

With the way things were left at the end of iZombie last season, it’s easy to see why fans would look forward to this season. There are so many questions about the new zombie world order in place and what that means for our favorite humans on Team Z and the zombies as well.

Not to mention, there’s still Ravi’s fate to be revealed after the scratch and the cure. He’s going to be fine…right?

Updated: iZombie Season 4 premieres Monday, February 26th at 9/8c on The CW.

We are so excited for this amazing comedy to be back! One Day at a Time Season 1 made our 2017 lists for pretty much everything (Favorite Comedy, Favorite Moment, Favorite New Show), and we are all in love with the cast and crew.

The One Day at a Time Season 1 finale ended at Elena’s quinceanera with the whole group hugging after a powerful first season full of heartwarming and comedic moments. We are expecting nothing less from Mike Royce, Gloria Calderon Kellett, and the cast led by Justina Machado.

One Day at a Time Season 2 drops on Netflix on January 26.

10. The Resident

It feels like we’ve been waiting for this show for ages, and now it is finally almost here. Hospital shows can be super addicting if they are done right — just look at Grey’s Anatomy — and we have a hunch The Resident will be amazing.

The cast is brilliant — Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, and Matt Czuchry — and we can’t wait to see how the relationship dynamics are mixed into interesting medical cases. We’re sure all the members of #TeamLogan are beyond excited to see Matt Czuchry as a doctor.

It’s a little difficult to imagine a show about magicians without any magic, but that’s exactly what’s going on after our favorite Brakebills students kill Ember.

We’re excited to see everyone in this new, magic-less world. Odds are, not everyone will be handling the life of a normal human being all that well.

To top it all off, The Magicians Season 3 promises to take us on an epic journey to restore magic. Count us in.

The Magicians Season 3 premieres on Wednesday, January 10 at 9/8c on Syfy.

12. Grown-ish

GROWN-ISH – Late Registration – Freeform/Kelsey McNeal

The brilliant Yara Shadidi goes to college in this spin-off of ABC’s hilarious and poignant sitcom Black-ish. Shadidi’s Zoey is one of our favorite Black-ish characters, and the idea of seeing her in a setting separate from her family is really exciting.

The cast looks awesomely diverse and all the material that has been released so far has been hilarious which is why I believe there is a good chance for Grown-ish to become one of my comedy favorites of the new year.

Allison is in a love affair with television that doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon. Slightly damaged fictional characters are her weakness. She loves to spend her free time curled up with a cat and a show to binge-watch. Allison is a Tomatometer-approved critic (Rotten Tomatoes).
