17 Most Shocking TV Moments of 2017
13. Bonnie Kills Perry — and Gets Away With It (Big Little Lies)

The big murder mystery of Big Little Lies throughout its first season was two-fold: who was the murder victim, and who killed them. The female-led series certainly didn’t disappoint with the finale’s big reveal.
While it wasn’t particularly shocking that the victim wound up being Perry, Celeste’s abusive husband, there were a few surprises thrown in. One was the sudden realization among all the women that Perry was also Jane’s rapist and the father of Ziggy. The women all fought him off when he attacked Celeste, only for Bonnie to rush in at the last moment and shove him down the stairs, killing him.
The scene was phenomenally done, with incredible performances from just about every major cast member — an epic way to end an overall wonderful season.
14. Owen’s Sister is Alive — (Grey’s Anatomy)
We’d been hearing quite a bit about Owen’s sister Meghan and the guilt he felt over her death, but it was still a shocking surprise when he got that knock on his door telling him that she was actually alive. The news turned Owen’s world upside down, as well as her fiance, Nathan’s — who was also a new love interest for Meredith.
We met Meghan officially in Grey’s Anatomy Season 14. Previously, in a flashback, she was played by Bridget Regen, but the role was recast and she was later played by Abigail Spencer.
15. Chuck Catches His House on Fire (Better Call Saul)
The Better Call Saul Season 3 finale, appropriately titled “Lantern,” leaves us with a major cliffhanger involving Jimmy’s brother.
After ransacking his entire house to rid it of everything with electricity, and finally taking a baseball bat to the power meter, Chuck sits alone inside his house, wrapped up in his Mylar blanket, kicking at a lantern until it finally topples over and catches the house on fire. We might assume he dies in the fire, but that remains to be seen.
16. The Revelation That the Pearson Family Home Burned Down (This Is Us)

We’re getting closer and closer to finding out how Jack died on This is Us, and on This is Us Season 2 Episode 1, we learned that at some point, somehow, the Pearson family home was destroyed in a fire. That heartbreaking revelation left the audience stunned — and of course, very emotional.
17. Huck Gets Shot (Scandal)

Huck is perhaps the most adorable, broken hitman you could ask for on Scandal. So when it seemed like he was getting closer with Meg, it was hard not to root for his happiness. But then Scandal Season 6 Episode 7 “A Traitor Among Us,” ended with Huck getting shot, and that’s when the season shifted.
While Scandal Season 6 was rife with unintentional parallels to politics, the possibility of Huck exiting the series, and Abby’s involvement with the shadow organization that was attempting to install Mellie as its puppet President had us on the edge of our seats.
It was made even more dramatic when the series pivoted, and instead of giving the audience answers on Scandal Season 6 Episode 8 “A Stomach for Blood,” we instead got the events from Abby’s perspective. It wasn’t until Scandal Season 6 Episode 9 “Dead in the Water” that Huck’s fate was revealed.
