Lethal Weapon Review: Fork-Getta-Bout It (Season 2 Episode 8)

Lethal Weapon, Reviews

On Lethal Weapon Season 2 Episode 8, “Fork-Getta-Bout It,” Scorsese shares the details of his latest script. It follows two cops — a safe, by the book veteran and a loose cannon — as they take on the mob.

This storyline is just all sorts of fun.

For one, it brings Scorsese into the fold a lot more, giving him a chance to shine. Normally, we only get brief scenes with him either at the crime scene or in the morgue. It’s nice to see him not near a dead body for once.

He’s absolutely hilarious, and it’s interesting to explore his relationships with everyone.

The fact that Avery has been reading his scripts, and giving him notes(!), is amazing. It would have been fun to hear Riggs’ take on the script. Maybe he’ll peruse the next one.

Scorsese also gets to be Murtaugh’s partner for part of the case. It’s a new dynamic to explore, and it allows us to learn Scorsese’s real name — Bernard!

The ride-along is a lot of fun, especially since Murtaugh spends most of their time together trying to convince Scorsese that he isn’t safe.

It’s always enlightening to learn how other’s see you. Sometimes, you agree with their spot-on assessment, and other times, what they have to say about you is shocking.

It’s the latter for Murtaugh.

Murtaugh: You’ve missed my essence, Scorsese! Where’s my roguish charm?

He is appalled that people view him as safe, and so he steps out of his comfort zone during the case. Scorsese’s script is a fun and entertaining way to have Murtaugh reflect on his actions.

Scorsese also helps Murtaugh to realize that he’s standing in Riana’s way when it comes to romance. Sure, Riana is dating the son of Murtaugh’s arch-nemesis, but that doesn’t excuse his actions.

McNeile is always entertaining whenever he appears, and it is great to see him and Murtaugh on the same side for a change. Riana should date Robbie for a bit longer, so we can get more of Murtaugh and McNeile begrudgingly interacting with each other.

Hopefully, Murtaugh will continue to branch out of his safe zone a bit. He doesn’t need to go full Riggs or anything, but he can instigate a high speed chase or propose some slightly out there ideas when it comes to capturing bad guys.

Murtaugh: I have an idea. It’s a little dangerous, might even be stupid, but.

Riggs: I don’t want to lose momentum, but I am very proud of you right now.

There’s always room to grow as a human being. Riggs’ growth has taken more of a central role in the show, so it’s time to focus on Murtaugh a bit more. Do you agree?

I don’t know where the Molly and Riggs shipper feelings came from, but they are out in full force during this hour. I’m still pulling for him Palmer…oh and also Cahill. What about you?

It would really be entertaining to see Riggs go on a series of bad dates or maybe even some blind dates. He doesn’t need to jump into something serious, especially since he almost kind of had that with Palmer.

Riggs needs to get comfortable dating again, and it has the potential to be highly entertaining. Can you picture Riggs on a blind date, making small talk? WAIT — Trish could set him up with someone!

The possibilities are endless.
