Empire Review: Fortune Be Not Crost (Season 4 Episode 6)
On Empire Season 4 Episode 6, “Fortune Be Not Crost,” we’re really just being teased and I don’t know if I’m into it.
Last week’s episode of Empire literally had me on the edge of my seat begging for the Cookie and Lucious reunion.
I was positive – positive – that we’d get it this week. I don’t know why, when I should know by now that Empire loves to drag things like this out.

Instead, we get an entire episode in family court dealing with the DuBois family. If I could pull a Becky and “clear the room” of all of them, I totally would. I mean, it’s totally unethical that the judge knows the family, right? I’d like to hold her in contempt of court.
Plus, what’s going on with the Lyons? Everyone is all “is Lucious back or not?” which I don’t understand at all because, hello, of course he is!
It’s so obvious! Dwight wears weird hippy clothes and paints on the wall. Lucious wears suits and gives everyone withering looks.
The suit is back on, so Lucious is back.

And, in true Lucious fashion, he’s already scheming. We’re basically back to the battle of the families.
The DuBois plan to take out the Lyon family one by one is off and running. Hakeem gets picked off first and, I have to say, it breaks me a little.
Hakeem has always gotten on my nerves. He’s kinda a brat and does dumb stuff. But, his questioning of Anika is heart wrenching. I think he’s finally grown up. Plus, Cookie testifying about not being there for him when he was a baby really put things into perspective.
Oh, and I cried like a baby when the U.S. Marshals took Bella away. Am I just being hopeful, or does Anika seem remorseful? Please tell me she’s going to let Hakeem see Bella. Please. Angelo seems a little remorseful, too. Maybe the DuBois family is going to fall apart.

It looks like Jamal is next on the hit list, with Andre hot on his heels. I feel for Jamal and all, but I really need no one to mess with Andre right now. Seriously. He’s been through too much.
It’s hard for me to admit it, because I’ve been complaining about Anika and Angelo for awhile now, but I’m kind of excited that Lucious is back and ready for a fight. Lucious really is at his best when he has a clear enemy in his sights.
He might be terrible, but he’s a lovable terrible.
The thing is, I need Empire to throw me a bone and give us a little time with Cookie and Lucious. It’s such a tease. I don’t think my heart can handle another episode of holding my breath for the moment with Lucious tells Cookie he remembers and he loves her.

I mean, come on!
