18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever (continued):

11. Penny Dreadful

 18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever | Tell-Tale TV - Part 2

This gothic supernatural horror never really got the attention it deserved.

To its loyal fans, Penny Dreadful will always measure up to be one of the better psychological thrillers as it explored the origin stories of classic literary characters like Dorian Gray, Count Dracula, and Victor Frankenstein. The entire ensemble cast is exceptional, but in our hearts, Eva Green will remain the stunning standout of the series.

Must-watch episode of the series: Penny Dreadful Season 1 Episode 8, “Grand Guignol”

12. Lost Girl

 18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever | Tell-Tale TV - Part 2

This sexy supernatural drama is about a succubus who gets caught between the Light fae and the Dark fae.

Fans of Lost Girl gobbled up the way it told the stories of the different ancient underground groups of magical creatures within the fae, and fell in love with the adorable friendship between Bo and Kenzi. The cast themselves are all alluring, but we still can’t get enough of amazing Anna Silk.

Must-watch episode of the series: Lost Girl Season 4 Episode 7, “La Fae Epoque”

13. Lost

 18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever | Tell-Tale TV - Part 2

This supernatural drama is about a group of survivors from Oceanic Flight 815 that crashed on a mysterious island full of unpredictable paranormal entities.

Lost‘s three-dimensional characters and human connections kept everyone at the edge of their seat, despite the lack of answers that the series left us. The ending may have been a tad confusing, but we were more concerned with finding out what the significance of the numbers or what the smoke monster really was!

Must-watch episode of the series: Lost Season 3 Episodes 22 and 23, “Through the Looking Glass”

14. Grimm

 18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever | Tell-Tale TV - Part 2

This supernatural show takes a twist to procedural dramas, as a detective finds out he’s the latest guardian to keep a balance between humans and mythological creatures. Grimm has a mix of jokes and dark fantasies with characters inspired by the boom Grimm’s Fairy Tales.

Sure it had it’s ups and downs, but one thing remained steadfast and that was the great ensemble. Two of the lead actors, David Giuntoli and Bitsie Tulloch, turned their show romance into a real-life one, and they married earlier this year.

Must-watch episode of the series: Grimm Season 1 Episode 22 “Woman in Black”

15. Charmed

 18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever | Tell-Tale TV - Part 2

This supernatural drama may not be for everyone, but who doesn’t appreciate a dose of hokeyness now and again?

Charmed is about a trio of sisters who are the most powerful good witches and their struggle to keep their supernatural identities and their ordinary lives separate. The series hooked us with its time-traveling plots, warlock wizardry, and alluring darkness, but the real reason people love this series is because of the Charmed Ones’ relationship.

Must-watch episode of the series: Charmed Season 4 Episodes 1 and 2, “Charmed Again Parts 1 and 2”

16. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This supernatural TV show is all about its strong female lead, played by the unforgettable Sarah Michelle Gellar, who has a mission to fight demons and vampires.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is chalked full of one-liners, character depth, and supernatural creatures. At the end of the day though, it is more than just a show for its audience — it is a way of life, and show-runners from this list have said that this show was their inspiration.

Must-watch episode of the series: Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 4 Episode 10, “Hush”

17. Being Human (US Version)

 18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever | Tell-Tale TV - Part 2

This supernatural drama, which is originally a British TV show, centers about roommates who just happen to be a vampire, werewolf, and a ghost.

Being Human had its downfalls, but there was a lot of great storytelling within the script as it didn’t fall into some of the melodrama stereotyping of these paranormal creatures.

Sam Witwer, Sam Huntington, and Meaghan Rath all had instantaneous chemistry, and they shared an impeccable taste for comedic timing despite some of the more serious undertones.

Must-watch episode of the series: Being Human Season 4 Episode 13, “There Goes the Neighborhood Part III”

18. Angel

 18 Best Supernatural Television Shows Ever | Tell-Tale TV - Part 2

This supernatural spin-off drama is focused on the tormented vampire after he moves from Sunnydale to Los Angeles.

Angel definitely had its peaks and valleys, but David Boreanaz was haunting as the older vampire trying to find redemption. He and his gritty band of heroes, including a breakout role for Amy Acker, battled evil demons and tried to save the souls from those who have lost their way.
