5 Things We Learned About ‘Supergirl’ at San Diego Comic-Con
Supergirl flew into San Diego Comic-Con to let us know that dark times are ahead. Kara’s life has changed since losing her first love, new foes are coming to cause havoc, and there’s love in the air for some.
Here are five things we learned about Supergirl at San Diego Comic-Con:
1. Supergirl is leaving Kara behind.
After sending her boyfriend away so he wouldn’t die, Kara is in a state of grieving. And as we all know, grieving makes us do ill-advised things.
In Kara’s case, she’s going to put the reporter away and go full Supergirl to distance herself from the pain she’s feeling at losing her first love.

2. Melissa and Lena love their friendship.
It’s rare to see a friendship like Kara and Lena’s on TV, and the cast knows it. There’s no bitchiness, no cockiness, no mean girls. They wholeheartedly support each other and care for the other. And with Kara mourning Mon-el, friendships like the one she has with Lena, are going to keep her going.
3. Lena will be going up against a formidable foe.
We’re not sure what led him Morgan Edge to become hyper focused on Lena, but we’re sure that she’ll fight to the very end and with all that she’s got.
With Morgan setting his eyes on Lena we’re sure that he’s going to go after the Girl of Steel as well. That’s what happens when you go after BFF’s!

4. We’ll be meeting Martian Man Hunters father.
Carl Lumby has joined the cast as M’yrnn J’onzz. He’s a pacifist leader on Mars who comes to disrupt J’onn J’onnz’s life in unexpected ways.
5. James will have a love interest.
After completely erasing the buildup we saw between Kara and James in Season 1 and having his focus on his role as the Guardian, James is finally going to have another shot at romance.
According to Mehcad Brooks, who plays James, he’s ready to be “sensitive.”
