ABC’s ‘Scandal’ Ending After Season 7
There’s an end in sight, Gladiators.
According to TV Line, sources have confirmed that Scandal will end with Season 7, a decision that was reportedly made by Shonda Rhimes and supported by ABC.
Although ABC isn’t currently commenting, the network is expected to make an announcement next week.
Rhimes has stated in the past that Scandal wouldn’t have the length of Grey’s Anatomy, which will be entering its 14th season.

Rhimes also stated the following to The Hollywood Reporter in an interview recently: “I used to know how it ended, and then Donald Trump was elected,” she said. “We had a destination, and I don’t know if that’s our destination anymore.”
All of the current Shondaland series, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder were recently renewed for the upcoming season. A new Shondaland series, Still Star-Crossed, premieres this summer.

I’m not really disappointed by this, only because I feel like after Mellie takes office this season, how much more of a story is there to tell? The original draw was Fitz and Olivia, which I think is a relationship on shaky footing and I don’t know how much longer it’s going to last.
Now, if Guilllermo Diaz and Katie Lowes were to sign on for a Huck and Quinn fight crime prequel, or a Huck and Finn fight crime sequel developed by Shonda Rhimes…I would be ALL over that!
