First Look at the New Starz Series ‘American Gods’
One of the most hotly anticipated shows of the summer is Starz’s Neil Gaiman adaptation, American Gods.
American Gods follows recently released inmate Shadow Moon, played by The 100‘s Ricky Whittle, as he is recruited by a mysterious stranger who calls himself Mr. Wednesday, played by Ian McShane.
Serving essentially as Wednesday’s hired muscle, the duo embarks on a road trip to gather the mythical old gods together for an impending war with the new gods of modern society.
The trailer promises a delightfully weird and surreal series that blurs the line between reality and myth.
American Gods is executive produced by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green and stars Emily Browning as Laura Moon, Shadow’s dead wife; Bruce Langley as Technical boy, the God of Technology; Yetide Badaki as Bilquis, the biblical Queen of Sheba; Peter Stormare as Czernobog, the God of Darkness; Cloris Leachman as Zorya Vechernaya, the Evening Star; Gillian Anderson as Media, the new Goddess of Television; and Kristen Chenoweth as Easter, the Goddess of the dawn.
