Our Most Dramatic List Yet: Ranking the Best of The Bachelor’s Leading Men

Lists, The Bachelor

Amid the excitement of its 21st season premiere — which hit the small screen January 2nd — we’re looking back at The Bachelor’s previous stars.

From single dads to professional athletes (and one man who was both!), Bachelor Nation has certainly seen a wide variety of men take the televised journey to find love.

Though each of the past 20 seasons kept us fully entertained, some The Bachelor stars themselves stood out against the others. But which leading man was the best of the best?

We’ve narrowed down and ranked the 10 greatest Bachelors in the history of the epic series…

10. Charlie O’Connell

Charlie O’Connell certainly wasn’t Mr. Perfect, but his frequent hijinks made for a season of fun and hilarity. From the very first cocktail party — during which he did a round of body shots off his suitors — Charlie marked himself as a man out to have a good time.

Luckily, his fun-loving approach to the series made for a good time for audiences as well.

9. Matt Grant

The Bachelor: London Calling served up a special 12th season staring native Londoner Matt Grant, along with 25 American ladies vying for his heart. His British charm made him an instant hit among viewers, and the dramatic cast of characters he dated led to a very entertaining season.

8. Travis Lane Stork

Now a permanent fixture on the small screen in his own show, The Doctors, Stork led the 8th season of The Bachelor, which was uniquely set in Paris, France.

Though this doctor couldn’t heal his relationship with final rose winner Sarah, their story was still one of the show’s sweetest. Though they met for the first time in Paris while filming The Bachelor, these one-time lovebirds were from the same street in Nashville!

7. Bob Guiney

As the first star of The Bachelor to appear as a contestant on The Bachelorette first, Bob Guiney was a favorite among fans before his season even premiered.

Though his attitude and appearance strayed from the producers’ idea of an eligible bachelor, Bob proved to be an incredibly lovable lead. His charismatic personality and boyish charm kept him popular with the ladies in the Bachelor mansion as well as those watching at home.

6. Jason Mesnick

Jason lives on in the memories of fans as the most emotional The Bachelor star. And though his change of heart after the final episode of his season (during which he proposed to Melissa, only to break up with her and reunite with runner-up Molly on After the Final Rose) left many viewers upset, there’s no denying that it made for entertaining TV!

Mesnick has since redeemed himself, appearing on several subsequent seasons and specials to provide help and advice. He and Molly even married on television in what was a beautiful and reality-star-studded event.

The couple is still happily married, proving his controversial decision was in fact the right one.
