Teen Wolf Review: Blitzkrieg (Season 6 Episode 8)

Reviews, Teen Wolf

Mr. Douglas’ Nazi background is utterly boring, the pack continues fighting in a rapidly deserting town, and Sheriff Stilinski remembers his son on Teen Wolf Season 6 Episode 8, “Blitzkrieg.”

No one sheds a tear or even feels bad for the teacher they were all fanning themselves over a couple weeks before. Mr. Douglas is evil, selfish, and greedy for something he lacks in himself, true power.

Stealing souls is a way for him to elevate himself beyond the Nazis, Dread Doctors, or Ghost Riders. Either way, it’s boring and we’re counting down the seconds till he gets whipped (by the Ghost Riders) for contributing to the deaths and disappearances of those long forgotten and members of this pack.

The cruelest punishment for Mr. Douglas will be having no one remember him or what he tried to accomplish in his time among us.

When it comes to Team B (Liam, Hayden, Mason, Cory) most people fall into two categories: 1) You love them to the moon and back. 2) You can’t wait for them to move on to get back to Team A. I happen to fall into the former.

They have grown from being fun additions that felt like an afterthought, to contributing members of the pack, that have Scott’s back no matter what. Sure, they still mess up, i.e. Heartless, but they are willing to do what it takes to find Stiles and right the wrong that the Ghost Riders have inflicted on their town.

Liam is being mentored by Scott on how to be a leader. Mason has made it a priority to know the supernatural like the back of his hand since the Beast of Gevaudan. Cory helps with planning and backup. And Hayden acts as the muscle, confidant, and strategist pulling them together.

Can MTV pull off a Teen Wolf sequel with Team B when Team A (Stiles, Scott, Lydia, Malia) head off to college? No. It would be overkill. But Beacon Hills will be in capable hands until the rest of the pack returns.

Speaking about capable hands, let’s talk Hayden. She’s a hero.

When the Ghost Riders arrive she joins in the fight and continues to prove that the women of Teen Wolf are certified badasses. She fights with Liam, not only because he’s her boyfriend, but because he’s her pack mate.

The sacrifice Hayden makes is something she would do for Scott, Malia, Lydia, the Sheriff, the list goes on. She understands what the bigger picture is and has confidence that the pack will bring her back, safe and sound.

This is just another sign of how far the pack has come since Theo’s treachery last season.

The sudden disappearance of Claudia Stilinski comes as a surprise, even though logically it shouldn’t. As mysteriously as she appears, to fill a void in Noah Stilinski’s life, she disappears, leaving her husband with a small taste of what could have been.

The Sheriff receives something that, people who’ve lost someone, never do. Noah got a chance to experience the ‘what if’s.’ What if Claudia survived? What if we grew old together? What if we didn’t have a son?

Even though it was an illusion, he gets to play pretend with someone that feels real and has left him with memories that he can share with Stiles when they get him back.

When it comes down it, the rescue of Stiles Stilinski has never been an “if”. It’s always been a “when” because of the strength of the pack (including the humans aka badass parents.)

The McCall pack isn’t the same ragtag group they were last year or the year before that. They are stronger for the trials they’ve gone through and understand that a united pack, steered by their love for each other, will conquer evil every day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Favorite Moment from Blitzkrieg: Sheriff Stilinski Revealing Stiles Name

The reveal of Stiles real name, Mieczyslaw Stilinski, is worth the wait. Speaking his name now, when everyone barely remembers him, adds weight to the moment and makes it unforgettable.

Additional Notes:
  1. For being such a powerful creature, Parrish sure lacks any self control. At the flip of a switch, aka utterance by an evil guy, he becomes enthralled and loses himself. With so little time left for Teen Wolf, we wonder if he’ll ever gain control or end up on a permanent retreat like Kira.
  2. Melargent (Melissa & Chris Argent) is rising and transforming into something beautiful. Wherever they are they’re not just sitting there and waiting for Scott to rescue them. They’re looking for Stiles, and a way to get out, at each other’s side.
  3. Does it bother anyone that we still don’t know anything substantial about the Dread Doctors?
  4. Like father, like son, Sheriff Stilinski follows the clues to discover the forgotten. He remembers his goofball son and sets the stage for the next phase of #RememberStiles.

Teen Wolf Review: Heartless (Season 6 Episode 7)

Lyra is a TV and movie enthusiast. It all started on a dark night when she turned on Fox and fell in love with the X-Files. It was all history after that as she got lost in Doctor Who, The Marvel Verse and most recently everything DC. Her love for Doctor Who lead her to study abroad, where she fell into live-tweeting and the lovely explosion of fandom life that Tumblr is. Her main love for the summer (with a mega re-watch happening) is Arrow. When she isn’t sharing her love for TV and movies she’s writing fan-fiction, taking care of her family, and puttering around her kitchen.
