How Shameless Season 7 Focused on Character Growth
6. Liam Gallagher
FINALLY. The writers gave Liam more that two sentences to say this entire season. I’ve always wondered why they always had Liam to be so mute.
He wouldn’t say a word, but in this season, he actually had some real dialogue with Frank, so that was great!
7. Frank Gallagher
Frank Gallagher. The man who never stops with his scheming and manipulative ways. This time, he tried to create a family of his own in an attempt to fill in the void of the family that does not want him nor care for him by acting like a true provider for these strangers he barely even knows. Typical Frank.
I’m glad Frank has toned it down a little with his drinking this season. But as the episodes went by, we got to see a sense of redemption Frank was longing for with his family, starting with Liam.
He wanted to be a better parent, and I think it would be nice to move forward with that plot in the next season. I want to see an episode, or two if we’re lucky, where Frank really owns up to all the disappointments he’s caused.
It’s been a long time coming, but it was good to see that he’s realizing what a sh*t of a father he’s been all this time. Get it together, Frank!
8. Kev and V
I love these two. But this season, they hit a bumpy turn when Svetlana’s father or umm, her actual husband comes into the picture and makes things all complicated for them. Kev and V continue to be that couple you just want to root for, because they mesh so well as a team.
Unfortunately, Svetlana takes ownership of Kev’s bar, and it’s worrisome. Where is she? Who knows!
