5 Reasons to Watch Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD: Slingshot

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Lists

With Agents of Shield still on winter break, many fans have been eagerly anticipating some new episodes. But in case you missed it, there are!

Over at the ABC website, as well as on their Youtube channel, there is a six-part mini series called Slingshot, and it’s exactly what you want if you have been missing Agents of Shield. Here are five quick reasons why you should check it out.

(You can also start watching the series below!)

1. Yo-Yo Gets the Spotlight

Through her run on Agents of Shield, Yo-Yo Rodriguez is only a supporting character. We rarely get to see her point-of-view. Slingshot is Yo-Yo’s story, and it is a fantastic one set before the beginning of Season 4.

Without revealing much, Yo-Yo goes on a deeply personal mission in the past as she has to maneuver through the halls of Shield to get the information she needs.

It leads to some fantastic interactions with other members of the team, especially Daisy. It’s wonderful to see Yo-Yo get the spotlight for this, and she more than owns it.

2. Character Moments

The rest of the team is not ignored, however. Each gets a moment in an episode, whether it be Coulson, Mack, Daisy, Fitz, or Simmons.

The highlights of these moments include some wonderful Mack and Yo-Yo flirting, Coulson extending his fatherly advice to Yo-Yo, and a lovely FitzSimmons moment that’s funny and gives the shippers a moment to swoon. It’s not weird Fitz names his TV, is it?

3. Jeffrey Mace

We get to see more of the character during this past story of Yo-Yo. Jeffrey’s full charm and slight salesman abilities are in full effect here as he tries and successfully get Yo-Yo to sign  the Sokovia Accords.

It’s interesting to get more insight into The Director and what kind of heroic and flawed man he can be.

4. Quick to Binge

Slingshot is a quick binge-watch, with only six short episodes. So it makes a fun, quick viewing experience.

5. It’s Good!

Overall, it’s a really fun and interesting story. It delivers action, suspense, and romance — and the easter eggs are fun to see.

Yo-Yo shows that she can shine in the spotlight, and Slingshot delivers a Agents of Shield story that will leave hoping for more of these type of stories in the future.

Agents of Shield: Slingshot is available on the ABC Network app and website, as well as on Youtube.
