We’ve had incredible, complex witches on television since some of the earliest sitcoms, and it seems their presence has only gotten more popular.

From a good witch who can cast a spell with the twinkle of her nose to a few who are completely evil, here’s a list of 14 of our favorite TV witches.

Tara was always a kind witch who wanted to do what was right. She also tried to help keep Willow in check when it was necessary, understanding that magic needs boundaries.

6-8. The Halliwell Sisters, Charmed
