…not Catherine. We know Catherine and April will be butting heads when it comes to the new baby, and this moment probably doesn’t help matters.

7. Owen and Amelia Start Their Marriage

Owen and Amelia seem like happy newlyweds at the beginning of the season, and they even decide to host a dinner party. We all know how those can go… That dinner party will take place on Season 13 Episode 2, “Catastrophe and The Cure.”

Caterina Scorsone, who plays Amelia, announced earlier this summer that she is pregnant, but that doesn’t mean her character will be. “I think they don’t want to burn through all that story, but I also think that last time they wrote my pregnancy in, and I think Shonda [Rhimes] is going to give me a break on this one,” Scorsone said in a statement to EW.

9. Callie Won’t Be Back

Callie left for New York, and we won’t be seeing her again, at least any time soon. Sara Ramirez announced at the end of Season 12 that she was leaving the show after ten years of playing Callie Torres. So long, Callie! At least her send off wasn’t anything like, say, Derek’s. Or George’s. Or Mark’s… Or Lexie’s…

10. More Romance for Meredith

It seems like Meredith is hitting it off Nathan Riggs, though there have also been rumors of a relationship for Alex and Meredith. Let’s hope Meredith sticks to Riggs, though.

  • I’m surprised that the writer would prefer Riggs for Meredith. The relationship between Meredith and Alex are what strong, enduring, relationships are made of. It’s been carefully constructed over a course of many years, evolving along the way. For the past two seasons, at least, I have felt that the two would ultimately become life partners, and given the relationship evolution, it makes sense.

    • I can definitely see where you’re coming from, but that’s exactly why I don’t want them to end up together. I love watching their friendship and the way that’s evolved, and to me, they’re like brother and sister.
