Pretty Little Liars is Ending After Season 7

News, Pretty Little Liars

The longest-running show currently on Freeform is coming to an end.

The cast and showrunner of Pretty Little Liars announced Monday afternoon that the show’s series finale will air in Spring 2017.

Executive producer and showrunner Marlene King made the announcement alongside cast members Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Sasha Pieterse on the show’s official Facebook page Monday afternoon.

“The big announcement is after tomorrow night’s summer finale, which is awesome and spectacular. The next ten episodes of this show really are going to be the last ten episodes of the series,” King said.

“It’s been such an amazing chapter of our lives, and we’re so glad that you guys could share it with us,” Hale said. “But you know, all good things must come to an end, and these last ten episodes are pretty crazy, so we’re going out with a bang.”

King promised answers for the fans, saying, “I can’t think of one question that we don’t answer.”

Bellisario, who directed one of the final ten episodes, added, “I think even our most loyal fans, from the very beginning of the show, they’re gonna be very, very satisfied.”

The final ten episodes of Pretty Little Liars Season 7 will begin in April 2017. The series finale, directed by King, will be a 2-hour special event.

The Pretty Little Liars Season 7 summer finale airs Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 8/7c on Freeform.
