Jared Padalecki Talks Mary Winchester and ‘Supernatural’ Season 12 [Video]

We caught up with Jared Padalecki at San Diego Comic-Con to talk Mary Winchester, the changing relationship with Dean, and Season 12 of Supernatural.

Padalecki was quick to assure us that despite not knowing Mary, and not having memories of her like Dean does, his character will want to protect her.

“I think Sam feels towards Mary the way Dean feels towards Sam. Sam wants to keep Mary safe. He lost Mary. He never really knew her. But I feel like Mary’s a hunter. If Sam and Dean are off on a hunt, mom’s not gonna be like, ‘Alright, guys. Call me when you get home.’ She gonna want to hunt. She’s a hunter,” Padalecki said.

Last we left off, Sam was being shot at by a member of the British division of the Men of Letters. Padalecki feels like they got off on the wrong foot.

“The British Men of Letters is more regimented and structured, obviously than our version of the Men of Letters, even though we were never properly initiated,” he explained.

After 11 seasons of saving the world, it might look a little different for people that are across the pond and getting the information second-hand.

“So I think they know certain parts of the Winchesters that are true but just look wrong on paper. Like ‘we started the apocalypse’ and ‘we let Lucifer out of his cage.’ Looks bad on paper. The Brits aren’t happy about it, but I hope we can come to an understanding.”
