ATX Television Festival, Interviews

There’s a lot of love to go around for the ATX Television Festival, a unique festival that includes panels, screenings, and special events.

This year’s festival included reunions for The West Wing, Royal Pains, and Ugly Betty, screenings of several upcoming shows, and panels featuring legendary television writers.

We kicked off the festival on the opening night red carpet, where we spoke with Revenge star Nick Wechsler, one of the festival’s ambassadors, about what makes the festival so special.

“It focuses on creative rather than celebrity. If celebrities show up, it’s sort of a bonus. It’s not the point,” Wechsler explained. “The stars are the people who made the shows.”

“And the girls [Emily Gipson and Caitlin McFarland], the way they run it, they keep it really modest and everyone level-headed. They make sure there that are no assholes here,” he continued.

“It’s just this like, beautiful family.”

You know what? We feel the same way.

We’ll have more coverage of the ATX Television Festival coming soon, so stay tuned!
