iZombie Review: Method Head (Season 2 Episode 10)

iZombie, Reviews

Happy New Year! Now that we’re back from the Holidays in TV Land, iZombie returns with a bang.

“Method Head” wastes no time in answering questions that we were left with in the mid-season finale. We quickly find out that the “Zombie Cure” that Ravi fashioned is only temporary. Ravi isn’t certain how long the cure will last and must continue his research on both Major and Blaine while searching for tainted utopium. Is Major going to turn into a Zombie now? Will Liz and Major finally have a chance if Major turns into a Zombie?

It’s another case of the week for Liz and Babineaux as she finds herself on set of her favorite show Zombie High where the lead actor was just murdered. Liz tries to maintain her professionalism while fangirling all over her favorites. We move pretty quick into solving the case and finding out all the dirty little secrets that happens on set of a popular show. Which costar is sleeping with each other? The lead actor is actually a tyrant who makes the crew’s life a living hell. Also, craft services is the best and the donuts are always fresh unlike at the police station. It makes you wonder what’s really happening behind the scenes of all of our favorite shows, murder aside, what if we could get a first hand look? I call dibs on eating all the food at craft services.

“Method Head” feels more like a filler episode after the Holidays. This episode is very procedural in nature.  However, there are great moments that will lead to many questions finally being answered as we enter the back half of the season. For example, the dog of the owner that Major “kills” is finally being tracked down with the GPS device that’s embedded in him.

You got some explaining to do, Major.

This episode doesn’t set up much for Liz’s storyline, but it does allow for the supporting characters to shine a bit. We see Major continue to show his loyalty to Vaughn while playing double agent. Everyone, check your fit bits to make sure they aren’t bugged.

But how far will Major continue down this path of working for Vaughn? What will Liv’s reaction be when she finds out he is working for the enemy? The man we love to hate, Blaine has caught the attention of Babineaux’s  girlfriend, FBI Agent Dale due to his connection to the disappearance of Seattle’s richest. It’s only a matter of time before Dale and Babineaux start putting the pieces together. How will he get out of this? Things are going to get juicy.

It’s time for Major, Liz, Ravi, and Blaine to start putting their cards on the table and team up. Everyone has their own secrets and agendas, which means everything is more complicated than it needs to be. As much as we dislike Blaine, it would be beneficial to Major and Liz if we all shared our information with the class.

Other Thoughts:

  • It’s great to see Babineaux and Liz back together again but when will Babineaux find out that Liz is a Zombie? What will his reaction be?
  • Vaughn is evil as evil does, but I think the true evil genius is his daughter Gilda.
  • Blaine has always had his own agenda, but will he be friend or foe at this moment?
  • Where’s Peyton?
  • Will we ever get a story of Ravi outside of the morgue and trying to find a cure?
  • Can Liz and Major finally get a break? Let them be happy!
