Jeffrey Dean Morgan Cast on The Walking Dead

Prepare for the arrival of a new villain, zombie fans!

The elusive Negan has finally been cast on The Walking Dead and he’ll be played by the one and only Jeffrey Dean Morgan! Negan is the leader of a brutal group set on exploiting any any all survivors of the zombie apocalypse — or so says the source material. Not much is known about this television incarnation of Negan so far, other than that he is a reported “killer of men.”

Yeesh, that doesn’t sound great.

Will he be linked to The Wolves, who have begun tormenting Alexandria this year, or will his group be something altogether more menacing? Only time will tell.

Morgan is scheduled to make his first appearance as Negan in the back half of this season of The Walking Dead, as we approach the end of Season 6. According to TV Line, he will likely be a regular in the zombie drama’s seventh season next year.

Perhaps the most compelling piece of this puzzle is that Negan’s comic book character was the one to off Glenn in the original works. With all the debate flying around about why Glenn is or totally isn’t dead, Negan’s arrival only adds another confusing ingredient into the mix.
