California, Here We Come! Our 5 Favorite Moments From The O.C. Season 1

“Californiaaaaaaa, Californiaaaaaa, here we come!”

The O.C. was a staple on millions of television screens from 2003 to 2007, and now The CW’s on-line streaming website, The Seed, has added Season One of the series to it’s lineup, sparking many of us to go back and relive the fabulous moments in history of Chino transplant, Ryan Atwood.

For those of us who were die-hard fans of the Fox teen soap, we remember The O.C. as the show that launched the careers of Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton, Adam Brody, and Rachel Bilson, while giving us intense doses of teen drama every Monday night. Admit it — you planned your day around where you were watching The O.C. that night.

Were you a Marissa or a Summer? Were you crushing on Ryan or Seth? How much did you hate Julie Cooper? Do you still have nightmares about Oliver Trask? Relive your feelings all over again!

#5 Welcome to the OC, bitch!

Luke kicked Ryan’s butt in their first meeting and delivered one of our all-time favorite quotes from the series. This moment sets the stage for every crazy moment Ryan Atwood is about to experience.

#4 Ew!

Summer Roberts starts out as a bitchy valley girl, but she slowly melts our hearts as we discover all of her lovely quirks. Though, the valley girl always lives on in Summer’s signature phrase, “Ew!”, which deserves a montage of its own.

#3 Acknowledge me now, or lose me forever!

We were all pulling for Seth to get the girl and the moment that Summer finally gave in and publicly declared her love for the adorkable outcast will forever remain one of our favorite of not just the first season, but of the series. Watch closely, folks! The guy on the other side of the kissing booth is none other than Wilson Bethel, who will go on to play Bilson’s true love Wade Kinsella on Hart of Dixie!

#2 I love you.

Ryan and Marissa’s first New Year’s Eve can’t go smoothly…that would be far too easy for these drama loving teens. Ryan is racing against the clock to arrive on time to kiss his lady before Crazy Oliver stands in for him. Everything about this moment is perfect, from Ryan’s first declaration of love to Marissa to Finley Quay’s, “Dice” playing in the background.

#1 Chrismukkah

We can’t remember a holiday season that existed without Chrismukkah, Seth’s self created holiday to combine all of the best that Christmas and Hanukkah have to offer. The O.C. created the holiday, one that many now celebrate joyfully each year. Thank you, Seth Cohen. The holiday season will never be the same!
