Ricky Gervais Set to Host 2016 Golden Globes
The Hollywood Foreign Press association confirmed that Ricky Gervais will host the Golden Globes for a fourth time in 2016.
Gervais’s last hosting gig was met with criticism, from several news outlets, for his comments on Jodie Foster’s sexuality, and Justin Bieber’s paternity scandal.
Despite this, NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt is looking forward to having Gervais return. “We’re excited to have Ricky Gervais back to host the most enjoyable awards show of the season in his own inimitable way,” Greenblatt stated. “Disarming and surprising, Ricky is ready to honor – and send up – the best work of the year in film and television. Fasten your seat belts.”
Nominations for the Golden Globes will be announced December 10th, The 73rd annual Golden Globes will air January 10th on NBC.
