Gotham Recap: “Everyone Has a Cobblepot”
Yes, indeed! Everyone does have a Cobblepot.
Sometimes, those Cobblepots come back. Sometimes, as Bullock’s points out, they don’t. And other times, they surprise you — from an attic, where you least expect it! Here’s a recap of “Everyone Has a Cobblepot,” complete with a few of our favorite tweets.
Jim sets out to find more information regarding the controversy with Commissioner Leob, and finds him to be allies with none other than Cobblepot. He needs to figure out what Leob is hiding, and the Penguin knows where to go. What do they find?
Leob’s daughter. That’s right: Miriam. We find out pretty quickly that she’s not very stable. How? She makes necklaces. Out of the bones of dead birds. Birds that she kills.
Wow that necklace is…..STUNNING. Tiffany’s? #Gotham @GothamAddicts

So, it’s particularly hilarious when Miriam looks at Cobblepot and delivers this line:
“He looks just like a bird. I love birds…” RUN PENGUIN RUN!! Or at least waddle really really fast!! #gotham — arika (@sneakyriki) March 3, 2015
Gordon puts it together that it is probably Miriam who killed her mother, and that it probably wasn’t a freak accident like everyone thought.
Jim’s just trying to fight the good fight, but after watching him get tossed around in a political or mob war for so long, it’s nice to see him come out on top for a little while. He has to do some questionable things, but that’s just what Gotham does to you. He blackmails his way to being appointed to Union president and gets Bullock’s file back.

Bruce, our favorite little superhero, deals with the aftermath of his home invasion and Alfred being stabbed. He hugs Selina, who comes to check on him. Fangirls everywhere squealed. I could hear the fan-fiction feverishly being written. Fish gets a new makeover, then she sacrifices a few of her own people to prove her loyalty to the doctor, and but when she looks out, she realizes getting out won’t be as easy as she thought it would be.
So, Fish Mooney is basically on Shutter Island! #Gotham — Ana Annie (@write2recite) March 3, 2015
What did you think of “Everyone Has a Cobblepot”? Here are some questions to ponder:
- Should Bruce have picked a better bed-time story for Alfred?
- How many marriage counselling sessions do you think the old couple in the Leob house attended to date?
- Will Gordon ever really learn to knock?
Gotham airs Mondays at 8/7c on FOX.
