A Few Things We Want From The Walking Dead in 2015

The first half of Season 5 of The Walking Dead can pretty much be summed up in two words: mind blowing. From a thrilling Terminus escape to hungry, hungry cannibals, to Beth’s tragic death, you can’t deny that showrunner Scott Gimple pulled out all the stops in those first eight episodes. But we’ve still got eight more episodes to go starting in February, so what do you want to see happen with our favorite zombie apocalypse crew?

Here are a few of our own suggestions:

Maggie and Daryl Bonding: There’s no doubt that Maggie and Daryl are going to be hit the hardest by Beth’s untimely end. Maggie didn’t even get to enjoy the good news that her sister was alive before Daryl was carrying the poor girl’s broken body out of that Atlanta hospital. Daryl also developed a deep connection with the bubbly blonde; some even speculated it could be a romantic connection. He certainly seemed dead-set on a rescue mission after she was Beth-napped. We think it could be great for Maggie and Daryl to lean on each other in their mutual time of grief.

Resolution on the D.C Story: The main bone we have to pick with Season 5 so far is that they’ve been building to this D.C mission for nearly a year with no payoff in sight. Add on to the pile that Eugene was apparently lying about the whole thing, and now we’re all just lost and confused. Are we heading to D.C or not? What’s even there? GIVE US ANSWERS!

More Michonne: One of the best parts of Season 4 was how much we got to learn about Michonne and her personal losses. There was also some great development between her and Carl and Rick. They became almost like a badass family unit for a while there. We’d love to see more of that in the back half of Season 5. Maybe we’ll finally get the story of how she lost her baby boy, even if it will make us bawl our eyes out.

Morgan: Okay, show. We’ve had it up to here. Morgan has been tailing the group all season and we’re more than ready for him to catch up. Scenes between Rick and Morgan always electrify the screen, and we’re all eager to see if he’s still cuckoo for Coco Puffs or not. It’s a tossup if he’ll help or hinder the group’s efforts to make it to D.C once he’s thrown in the mix, but either way we’ll get some great TV.

A Romance: These day,s genre shows are packed full of love triangles and unrequited yearning and basically all the mushy stuff that makes you want to roll your eyes. So it’s nice that The Walking Dead has pretty consistently sidelined all romance in favor of zombie gore. But lately, we’ve been feeling like it wouldn’t kill them to turn up the heat for some of their characters. There hasn’t really been a solid romantic subplot since Maggie and Glenn got together in Season 2, so it’s high time for sparks to fly again. Between who? We’ll leave that up to you to decide.
