Industry Season 4 Episode 7 Review: Points of Emphasis
On Industry Season 4 Episode 7, “Points of Emphasis,” everyone plans their next steps in the wake of Harper’s bombshell about Tender.
“What now?” seems to be the looming question permeating “Points of Emphasis.” Everyone must reevaluate their path forward’s paths forward regardless of their success. However, amid the constant chaos and pivots, Yasmin and Harper find each other as a soft place to land.
“Points of Emphasis” repeatedly captures exactly what makes Harper and Yasmin’s relationship so endlessly captivating and intricate. They find safety and understanding with each other because they are the only consistent things in each other’s lives. Yet, they always find themselves steeped in tension.

In their first meeting, Yasmin states that “[their] interests finally align.” It feels poetic that the thing that finally brings Yasmin and Harper together is bringing down Tender once and for all. These two are more powerful when they work together than when they’re at odds.
Later in the bar, they lay everything on the table. They love and admire each other but are also reminders of their respective shortcomings; they’re achingly honest, sifting through these complicated truths.
It’s refreshing to see a friendship, particularly between two women, hold all these intricacies unabashedly.
Industry never shies away from a gray area and Myha’la and Marisa Abela embrace it fully. Their respective deliveries are filled with so much warmth, they almost sound like affirmations rather than confessions of jealousy. They understand every jagged edge of this dynamic and revel in it.

We conclude with a bittersweet bookend to the season premiere as Harper and Yasmin surrender to the dance floor. Both yearn for a simpler time despite tasting what they’ve always envisioned for themselves.
This idea that power and money cannot fulfill a person remains at Industry Season 4’s core and the final moments of this episode affirm it. The happiest they’ve been all season is together, away from the chaos.
While Dycker and Haley’s opening encounter in the club felt like a hunt, this feels like healing, at least for the moment. As they dance, they’re the only two illuminated on the floor, practically merging into one being as the rest of the club fades to black. It’s so simple and striking, conveying everything there is to say.
Every time a character is able to “escape,” there’s this underlying sense of freedom. Harper and Yasmin typically live so deeply immersed in it all, seeing them finally admit to their emptiness and step away from it, even for a moment, is sobering and affirming.

“Points of Emphasis” feels like a release after holding our breath for weeks on end. It’s a bittersweet release, though; we know this freedom is temporary and, with one episode to go, there’s still so much on the horizon.
Much like Yasmin and Harper, we can’t enjoy the freedom for too long before the frenetic world of Industry comes crashing in around us.
Stray Thoughts
- Uncle Alexander and Yasmin’s silent exchange on Industry Season 4 Episode 2, “The Commander and the Grey Lady,” paid off in dividends here. They know they can no longer help him.
- Henry being left out to dry is the least surprising outcome, but fitting nevertheless. After playing puppet all season, of course, he’d be discarded.
- The government fallout was wild to watch. There were breadcrumbs all season, but the payoff was excellent.
