9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 18 Preview: Seismic Shifts
The 118 gets trapped inside a building that collapses after the earthquake on 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 18, “Seismic Shifts.”
The promo video sees Athena calling the emergency into dispatch, asking for them to send everybody to help with rescue and recovery. While the episode’s promo videos and photos suggest that most of the season finale will take place in that building, they also tease that 9-1-1 isn’t quite down with the laundromat.
Though Athena seemingly resolves the conflict with Graham on 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 17, “Don’t Drink the Water,” the “Seismic Shifts” photos reveal that Sam Roach is back as Graham, and new characters will enter the laundromat. How — if at all — are they involved with the collapsed building’s story? Only time will tell!
Meanwhile, the episode’s photos reveal that Debra Christofferson and Chiquita Fuller are back on 9-1-1 as Sue Blevins and Linda Bates, respectively. Though he’s not in the photos or the promo videos, if Josh is on “Seismic Shifts,” then the whole dispatch team, including Maddie, is back together for the season finale.
The promo video shows the 118 showing up to the scene, with Ravi asking, “How does anyone survive that?” To which Buck responds, “That’s our job.” Their job is never guaranteed to be safe, as Buck and Ravi find themselves trapped on one floor. Elsewhere, Chimney and Athena lose their one way out of the rubble.
The episode’s description reveals that Athena and Chimney will have to work together to save a familiar face, but 9-1-1‘s promotional material leaves fans wondering about how that person may be.
Alternatively, the photos confirm that Eddie, Christopher, and Pepa are sticking around for “Seismic Shifts.” But what about Eddie’s future in LA? While that seems less pressing than the 118 and civilians making it out of the high-rise apartment building, it’s a question one hopes 9-1-1 will answer before the season ends.
