Danielle Savre Talks Found Season 2 and That Major Heather Reveal [Interview]
Finding out the true identity of Heather Tolin was a fun reveal for Danielle Savre, who didn’t know when she first joined the series that her character had a special connection with Hugh Evans, a.k.a. Sir.
On Found Season 2 Episode 17, Margaret noticed the similarities between Heather and Sir and realized that Heather must be Sir’s half-sister, Lena. Those suspicions are then confirmed on Found Season 2 Episode 18, “Missing While Heather,” when the team learns how far Lena has already gone to help her brother.
I recently spoke with Danielle Savre about that reveal, the dynamic between Heather and Sir, and which sibling really holds the power.

When Savre first joined the series, she had a feeling there was something more to criminal defense attorney Heather Tolin, but she didn’t yet know the connection. Savre revealed that she found out sooner than showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll had planned.
“I think NK wanted it to be more of a secret for longer, but [Mark-Paul Gosselaar] spilled the beans the first day filming. I finished the scene with Brett [Dalton], and they’re like, ‘Mark-Paul wants to talk to you. Can you just wait at your trailer?'” Savre recalled. “He knocks at the door, and he goes, ‘Hi, Sister!'”
“So I had no idea. NK had wanted to keep it a secret as long as possible. I knew there was something — I just didn’t know what. I thought it was kind of on the bad side of things, but I didn’t know what.”
“I was not expecting that, you know? I get to play [Sir’s] sister. That’s just fun,” she added. “I was excited for it.”
It wasn’t until recently that Okoro Carroll called her to fill her in on all the details. “NK called me and she was like, ‘So, let me give you the rundown of everything. And that was when she finally told me the stuff I had assumed, but at that point, I finally got all the proper intel from the creator.”

“There were times, I remember I think after the hospital scene is when I was really kind of confused,” Savre said. “I just emailed NK, and I was like, ‘Am I doing this right?'”
Savre also discussed the brother/sister dynamic between Sir and Lena and how Found Season 2 Episode 18 starts to reveal who really has the power in their relationship.
“You really get to see that brother/sister dynamic — and who is in the power position and who isn’t. Because so far, we’ve seen Hugh always be the calm, the commanding, you know, he always really takes over. And I think it will be interesting to see between the two of them who really takes over. Who’s really the one pulling the strings?”
“I think when you start to see that brother and sister dynamic, you start to realize the similarities,” Savre said. “They both have trauma. You’ve seen the flashbacks to his childhood as well. They’re both driven, motivated people.”
Savre compared those traits to Maya Bishop, her character from Station 19, expanding on what she said about their similarities in a previous interview.
“I always think she’s similar to Maya in that regard because Maya was so driven and motivated to a fault, and so is Heather. And I use the word to a ‘fault’ on purpose, because it’s like, is Heather doing things for the right reason?”

In that previous interview, Savre also said that Heather was a character who was “very set on what her beliefs are,” and that she felt Heather’s beliefs “are going to drastically change, which is going to put her whole life in question.”
Savre elaborated a bit on that idea now that we know Heather’s real identity.
“She’s there to protect Hugh, but is Hugh the person she should be protecting? And I think what’s great is through, say, relationships and maybe meeting the M&A team, has she shifted — or at least started to question — her dedication and love towards her brother? Because it seems like he loves her, too. This is them. This is them taking on the world.”
“But she’s really starting to see for the first time that, ‘Wait, is it?’ Because it sounds like he cares more about Gabi than he does her,” Savre continued. “Does that really start to shift — what is Heather really doing this for, and why? And is he worth it?”
Found airs Thursdays at 10/9c on NBC.
