The much-anticipated One Chicago crossover is upon us, bringing the characters from Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D. together for a special three-hour event.

The crossover, titled “In the Trenches,” will kick off with Chicago Fire as a gas explosion threatens a high-rise government building. The fallout goes beyond that, though, when a subway tunnel collapses, and even more people are put in danger.

Logline: When a gas explosion rocks a high-rise, Chicago’s first responders come out in force to rescue hundreds of civilians. It’s the calamity beneath the surface, however, that sends our heroes on a race to save 40 people trapped deep underground, including two of their own.

Much like the One Chicago crossover event of 2019, this crossover will feel closer to a three-hour movie than three separate television episodes.

The event will shift the traditional #OneChicago show order, as well. It will begin with Chicago Fire, at 8/7c, then move into Chicago Med at 9/8c, and finally Chicago P.D., at 10/9c.

If “In the Trenches” is similar to “Infection,” then it will be difficult to tell where one show begins and another ends.
