
The Big Bang Theory Joins MTV and Nick at Nite’s Line-Ups
The Emmy Award-winning acclaimed comedy series for all geeks, The Big Bang Theory, is celebrating the holiday festivities thanks to Paramount!
Paramount announced that The Big Bang Theory will be heading back to MTV and Nickelodeon this month. This news marks the first time the show returns to Paramount following its run on CBS.
The Big Bang Theory will be first presented on Nickelodeon beginning on Tuesday, December 24. It will air on MTV, starting on New Year’s Day, January 1.

Beginning Tuesday, December 24, Nickelodeon’s nighttime programming block Nick-at-Nite will host a two-day event featuring holiday-themed episodes, including The Big Bang Theory Season 2, Episode 11, “Leonard Nimoy’s Napkin.”
Continuing on December 27, The Big Bang Theory Season 4 will debut on Nick at Nite and air daily from 12-2 a.m. ET/PT.
In addition, all seasons of The Big Bang Theory will also be added to Nick at Nite’s programming, joining its spinoff prequel, Young Sheldon.
Meanwhile, on MTV starting Wednesday, January 1, “MTV’s New Year with a Bang,” an all-day marathon of Season 3, will air on the network. From Saturday, January 4, fans can tune in every Saturday and Sunday and watch their favorite episodes.

Laurel Weir, EVP and Head of Programming, Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks, celebrated the announcement in a new statement.
“We are thrilled to welcome The Big Bang Theory back into the Paramount family, bolstering the comedy lineup for both Nick at Nite and MTV,” Weir said.
“Bringing engaging and culturally resonant content to fans is our priority, and the addition of The Big Bang Theory to our robust comedy slate across both networks brings our audience some of the best comedies in television history,” Weir added.
Since its premiere in 2007, The Big Bang Theory has been nominated for 55 Emmy Awards and won 10. The series was honored with a Television Critics Association Award, People’s Choice Award, and Teen Choice Awards. The comedy was also recognized by the AFI and Humanitas organizations.

Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady were co-creators, executive producers, and head writers on The Big Bang Theory.
Steven Molaro, Lee Aronsohn, Eric Kaplan, Maria Ferrari, Dave Goetsch, and Steve Holland were executive producers of the series.
The Big Bang Theory was produced by Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre Productions. The series is distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television.
