Preview — Abbott Elementary Season 4 Episode 1: Romance In the Air, HR In the Building
While class is once again in session for Abbott’s finest, this senior year will be anything but typical for these school teachers.
Abbott Elementary Season 4 Episode 1, “Back to School,” welcomes new conflict in the form of a golf course being constructed next door to the school.
That said, there is plenty of drama within the walls of Abbott to keep us engaged.
A familiar face from Janine’s time at the district, Ben Onyx Dowdy returns as the mysterious and occasionally menacing HR presence.
His visit to the school will surely stress more than a few teachers out with their laundry list of secret relationships, scandals, and beefs.
Besides Melissa’s hidden baseball bat, there are years of complaints from people who threatened to report Ava to HR. Perhaps we will finally see her face the consequences of her actions.
Just saying that made me laugh. Our girl Ava would never be held accountable.
And that’s it. Nothing else of importance happened over the summer that is worth mentioning.
No, just Janine and Gregory finally sealing the deal on their romantic relationship with a steamy kiss. Now, after having a whole summer to conoodle in secret, the two return to Abbott as an item.
At least we have to hope. This “will-they-won’t-they” couple loves to flee at the first sign of commitment. Nonetheless, Abbott Elementary assures their relationship status will be revealed when the show returns for its Season 4 premiere.

Episode description: The neighboring construction site of a new golf course is causing issues at Abbott, forcing the teachers to find creative solutions. An HR representative visits the school. Following their kiss, Janine and Gregory’s relationship status is revealed.
