‘Ghosts’ Rewards Our Patience with a First Look at the Season 4 Premiere

Ghosts rewards our patience with new photos and a synopsis from the Season 4 premiere.

CBS has revealed that the premiere — Ghosts Season 4 Episode 1, “Patience” — is all about that pesky feral Puritan ghost and her ploy to punish Isaac.

Thankfully, the synopsis for “Patience” confirms that Isaac’s kidnapping doesn’t go unnoticed long (a concern with these forgetful ghosts), and the Woodstone crew races to locate their missing friend. Sam’s first stop? Nancy and the basement ghosts — who harbor their own dark secret about Isaac’s disappearance.

Meanwhile, Isaac comes face to face with Mary Holland’s Patience “for the first time since she was lost in the dirt.”

From the new photos, it looks like our crafty Captain will pull out all the stops to escape her grasp, including groveling. But Patience has waited decades to confront Isaac, and he won’t be able to sneeze his way out of this one.

The photos of their reunion also show glimpses of the new set this season, first teased during Ghosts’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

“There’s a whole new set where Patience is,” Moriarty revealed. “And it looks unbelievable! I can’t wait to see what it looks like on camera.”

As for Patience herself, buckle up because this ghost brings a whole lot of baggage to Woodstone. “We describe Patience as being kicked out of her Puritan village in life for being a bit too much, even for the Puritans,” Joe Wiseman also revealed at the panel.

While Ghosts is keeping the rest under wraps until the premiere, fans can expect this storyline between Patience and Isaac to continue for 2-3 episodes, with Holland’s spirit sticking around for the yearly Halloween special on Episode 3.

“Our Puritan ghost will still be with us and she’s going to have a big effect on the house. She may not be the biggest fan of Halloween,” Wiseman teased.

In addition to new ghosts, Season 4 will explore the unequal treatment of the basement ghosts by the upstairs ghosts and the fallout from Isaac and Nigel’s breakup at the alter.

We will also watch Jay open the restaurant, welcome his family to the mansion for Christmas, and struggle to help Sam with the B&B side of the business. Oh yeah, and Jay will see the ghosts for the first time in Season 4!

So, continue to have patience. Ghosts will make a spirited return to CBS on October 17 at 8:30/7:30c.
