Everybody Still Hates Chris Sets Premiere Date on Comedy Central

Everybody Still Hates Chris premieres this fall on Comedy Central.

The highly-anticipated adult animated series is described as a “reimagined” version of Chris Rock’s semi-autobiographical family sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. The original series aired for four seasons across UPN and The CW from 2005-2009.

Everybody Still Hates Chris premieres Wednesday, September 25 at 10/9c on Comedy Central. Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold will reprise their roles as Chris’s parents Julius and Rochelle. 

Rock returns as the narrator, “Adult Chris,” sharing stories “inspired by his experience growing up as a skinny nerd in a large working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during the late 1980s,” per the show’s logline.

Tim Johnson Jr. takes over from Tyler James Williams as the voice of Young Chris. Ozioma, Akagha will voice Chris’s younger sister Tonya. Terrence Little Gardenhigh joins as Chris’s older brother Drew. Gunnar Sizemore voices Chris’s friend Greg.

“Chris Rock is one of the most gifted comedians of all time and we’re excited to partner with him, 3 Arts and CBS Studios to bring this to life and welcome it as the next big hit in our expanding arsenal of iconic adult animation,” Chris McCarthy, President/CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a previous statement, per TV Line.

Everybody Hates Chris won an NAACP Image Award for its writing in 2007 and received a Golden Globe nomination and several Emmy Award nominations during its four-season run. All seasons are streaming on Paramount+ now.

Rock produces the series through Chris Rock Enterprises.

Showrunner Sanjay Shah, Ali LeRoi, Michael Rotenberg, and Dave Becky of 3 Arts Entertainment will executive produce Everybody Still Hates Chris.

Titmouse is the animation studio with Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina serving as executive producers.

The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution outside of the Comedy Central footprint.
