Episode 2. Rashida Jones and Hidetoshi Nishijima in “Sunny,” premiering July 10, 2024 on Apple TV+.

In the midst of her grief, Suzie receives an unexpected gift from her husband’s electronics company: a state-of-the-art domestic robot named Sunny. The gift is particularly surprising for Suzie since she had no idea that her husband even built robots like Sunny.

But Sunny is more than just a helper robot. Through Sunny, Suzie uncovers a mystery that reveals there was more to the plane crash that took her family than she was led to believe. Following the clues, Suzie goes down a dangerous path of intrigue and conspiracy, searching for the truth.

The series is based on Colin O’Sullivan’s award-winning book The Dark Manual. It is Apple’s second collaboration with A24 and its third with Jones. Apple previously collaborated with A24 and Jones on Sofia Coppola’s film On the Rocks, and they worked with Jones on their 2023 series Silo.
