Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV! Our picks for the week of June 2nd include a captivating series finale and several long-awaited premieres.

This week, we feature The Acolyte, Criminal Minds: Evolution, Queenie, and more!

Mayor of Kingstown – Sunday, June 2nd

Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 Episode 1, “Soldier’s Heart,” brings back the show after a hiatus. With this premiere, tension runs high, and a member of the Russian mafia comes into town.  Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 premieres Sunday, June 2nd on Paramount+ 

Episode Description: As tragedy befalls Kingstown, tensions run high; the city welcomes a new member of the Russian mafia.

Billy the Kid – Sunday, June 2nd

After a two-year hiatus, Billy the Kid is back for another season. Billy’s goal this season is to work with the Regulators to take over Lincoln and mark the town safe from the thugs. Billy the Kid Season 2 premieres Sunday, June 2nd at 9/8c on MGM+.

Episode Description: The del Toboscos fail to repay their debt, leading to an ambush by the 7 Rivers Gang; Billy vows that he and the Regulators will take over Lincoln and clear out the thugs.

American Ninja Warrior – Monday, June 3rd

Another season of the show that brings men and women together to reach their goal of climbing Mount Midoriyama is back for Season 16. American Ninja Warrior premieres Monday, June 3rd at 8/7c on NBC.

Series Description: Men and women from all walks of life and every corner of the country come together to pursue their common dream of reaching Mount Midoriyama on the world’s most notorious obstacle course. Each possessing an inspiring story and a memorable personality, these unrivaled athletes push through seemingly impossible tests of strength and endurance. Though few have ever finished the course, the challengers stop at nothing as they take on a growing number of competitors and an ever-changing set of obstacles.

Name That Tune – Monday, June 3rd

Jane Krakowski and Randy Jackson are coming back for another season of Name That Tune. Once again contestants will compete, trying to identify the song being played by the band. Name That Tune premieres Monday, June 3rd at 8/7c on FOX.

Series Description: Contestants compete to correctly identify songs being played by an on-stage orchestra or band.

Clipped – Tuesday, June 4th

Following the world-renowned story of a racist NBA owner, Clipped retells what happened at the time based on The Sterling Affairs podcast. The first two Clipped episodes premiere Tuesday, June 4th on Hulu.

Series Description: Clipped goes behind the scenes of a notorious NBA owner’s racist remarks that were captured on tape and heard around the world. Based on the hit “ESPN 30 for 30” podcast “The Sterling Affairs,” the limited series charts the collision between a dysfunctional basketball organization and even less functional marriage, and the tape’s impact on an ensemble of characters striving to win against the backdrop of the most cursed team in the league. Famed coach Doc Rivers arrives as coach of the LA Clippers in 2013, and with a promising roster of big personalities, he has the building blocks to win the franchise’s first championship. The team’s owner, Donald Sterling, is a well-known problem, but minimizing his influence to win a title becomes a personal quest for Doc. Meanwhile, a courtside power struggle escalates between Sterling’s ambitious personal assistant, V. Stiviano, and his wife and business partner of 60 years, Shelly.

A new look into the Star Wars universe is coming to life with The Acolyte. The show will follow a former Padawan as she investigates a series of crimes. The Acolyte premieres Tuesday, June 4th on Disney+.

Series Description: A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes but discovers the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

Dark Matter – Wednesday, June 5th

Jason and Amanda find themselves growing closer, while Daniela suspects something is off about her husband. Dark Matter airs Wednesday, June 5th on Apple TV+.

Series Description:Daniela suspects something is not right with her husband; Jason and Amanda grow closer.

Criminal Minds: Evolution – Thursday, June 6th

Everyone’s favorite BAU is back for another season. Led by Emily Prentiss, the team will continue to haunt down the most violent serial killers. But will they have to ask for a killer’s help to solve the new cases? Criminal Minds: Evolution premieres Thursday, June 6th on Paramount+.

Series Description: An elite squad of FBI profilers analyzes the country’s most-twisted criminal minds, anticipating the perpetrators’ next moves before they can strike again. Each member of the “mind hunter” team brings his or her expertise to pinpoint predators’ motivations and identify emotional triggers to stop them. The core group includes an official profiler who is highly skilled at getting into the minds of criminals, a quirky genius, the former media liaison who manages to adeptly balance family life and the job, and a computer wizard.

Sweet Tooth – Thursday, June 6th

The end is coming for the half-human and half-deer boy who has captivated audiences worldwide. Sweet Tooth premieres Thursday, June 6th on Netflix.

Series Description: On a perilous adventure in a post-apocalyptic world, a boy who’s half-human and half deer searches for a new beginning with a gruff protector.

Fantasmas – Thursday, June 6th

Fantasmas follows the story of Julio Torres as he searches for a lost golden oyster earring in New York City. Fantasmas Season 1 Episode 1, “Cookies and Spaghetti,” is Julio’s introduction as he explains his sensitivity to shapes, colors, numbers, and the alphabet. Fantasmas premieres Thursday, June 6th on MAX.

Episode Description: While ignoring his landlord’s urgent letters, Julio obtains a gold oyster earring then promptly loses it at the club; Julio explains his sensitivity to shapes, colours, numbers, and the alphabet to his fellow rideshare passengers.

Queenie – Friday, June 7th

Hulu is bringing Candice Carty-Williams’s novel to life with Queenie. Dionne Brown will lead the show as 25-year-old Jamaican British Queenie in South London. Queenie premieres Friday, June 7th on Hulu.

Series Description: Based on the best-selling novel by Candice Carty-Williams, Queenie is the story of a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman living in south London, straddling two cultures and slotting neatly into neither.

Becoming Karl Lagerfeld — Friday, June 7th

Becoming Karl Lagerfeld tells the designer’s story before he became known to the public. The show will follow his life as he went into battle with Yves Saint Laurent. Becoming Karl Lagerfeld premieres Friday, June 7th on Hulu.

Series Description: In 1972, Karl Lagerfeld, 38, was a ready-to-wear designer still unknown to the general public. Then he ventured into battle with his friend and rival Yves Saint Laurent, genius of haute couture, supported by businessman Pierre Bergé.

The Girl Locked Upstairs: The Tanya Kach Story – Saturday, June 8th

The movie follows the life of Tanya Kach after being kidnapped and held captive for 10 years by her school’s security guard. The Girl Locked Upstairs: The Tanya Kach Story premieres Saturday, June 8th at 8/7c on Lifetime.

Movie Description: Feeling isolated and lonely, 14-year-old Tanya Kach befriends Tom Hose, a school security guard who lures her to his home. Held captive and abused for 10 years, Tanya eventually finds the courage to take a dangerous step toward freedom.

Savoring Paris – Saturday, June 8th

Ella goes on a soul-searching journey to Paris to try and navigate self-love. Savoring Paris premieres Saturday, June 8th at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.

Movie Description: Disillusioned with her day to day life, Ella embarks on a soul-searching journey to Paris, navigating love, self-discovery and cheese all amid the city of love’s enchanting backdrop.
