The Penguin’s Second Teaser Trailer Features Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti in Gotham City
Max has dropped the second teaser trailer for Max’s The Penguin, starring Colin Farrell in the titular role.
This trailer gives a closer look at the characters who will inhabit the latest iteration of Gotham City. It also appears like The Penguin, debuting this September on Max, will pick up right after the events of Matt Reeves’ 2022 film The Batman.
The two-minute and fifteen-second clip shows the Academy Award nominee as Oz Cobb (The Penguin), announcing that he’s ready to take over for mob boss Carmine Falcone. However, he will face resistance from Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone.

In the trailer, she can be heard saying, “I refuse to let these old men push me aside again, so I’m going to take from them now, and I’m going to force them to their knees.”
The Penguin was given a straight-to-series order for eight episodes in March 2022.
“The world that Matt Reeves created for The Batman is one that warrants a deeper gaze through the eyes of Oswald Cobblepot. I couldn’t be more excited about continuing this exploration of Oz as he rises through the darkened ranks to become The Penguin,” Farrell said at the time.
“Will be good to get him back on the streets of Gotham for a little madness and a little mayhem,” Farrell added.

In addition to Milotti and Farrell, the series, developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, also stars Rhenzy Feliz, Rhenzy Feliz (Victor Aguilar), Michael Kelly (Johnny Viti), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Nadia Maroni), Deirdre O’Connell (Francis Cobb), and Clancy Brown (Salvatore Maroni).
The Penguin‘s ensemble also includes James Madio (Milos Grapa), Scott Cohen (Luca Falcone), Michael Zegen (Alberto Falcone), Carmen Ejogo (Eve Karlo), and Theo Rossi (Dr. Julian Rush).
The eight-episode limited series is executive produced by Reeves, Dylan Clark, Farrell, LeFranc, Craig Zobel, who directed the first three episodes, and Bill Carraro.
Based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, The Penguin is produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Reeves and 6th & Idaho are under an overall deal. Daniel Pipski also serves as executive producer.
