SYFY’s The Ark returns with its second season this summer!

The series, which “takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race,” premieres its season on Wednesday, July 17, at 10/9c.

The Ark Season 2 follows “the brave crew of Ark One” when they find their destination uninhabitable, so “they must survive long enough to locate a new home for themselves and all the ships that follow,” per its official synopsis.

Created by Dean Devlin, the series stars Christie Burke, Richard Fleeshman, Reece Ritchie, Stacey Read, and Ryan Adams.

The Ark‘s 12-episode debut season premiered in April 2023, reaching 6.5 million viewers across all platforms. SYFY renewed the show for its sophomore season the same day (April 12, 202) that The Ark Season 1 Episode 11, “The Last Thing You Ever Do,” aired.

“We couldn’t be more excited to get back into space with the crew of the Ark. SYFY continues to be an amazing partner and home for this series,” executive producers/co-showrunners Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner said.

“Heading into space with Dean and Jonathan has truly been a trip worth taking and we’re tremendously excited about how this otherworldly adventure will continues in season two,” Katz added.

The Ark‘s second season is a part of SYFY’s summer slate. That programming schedule includes Chucky Season 3, which premiered on Wednesday, April 10 at 10/9c, and Reginald the Vampire Season 2, which premiered on Wednesday, May 8, at 10/9c. 

Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner are co-showrunners and executive producers of The Ark alongside Marc Roskin and Rachel Olschan-Wilson of Electric Entertainment. Jonathan English of Balkanic Media and Mark Franco of Electric Entertainment are producers.

The Ark Season 1 is streaming on Peacock.

The Ark Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, July 17, at 10/9c on SYFY.
