Preview — Wild Cards Season 1 Episode 5: The Accountant of Monte Cristo

Ellis gets an action-packed blast from his past on Wild Cards Season 1 Episode 5, “The Accountant of Monte Cristo.”

Someone Ellis used to work with — and a little more, per the episode’s promo video — calls on him for “help, but no one can know.”

That same short look at “The Accountant of Monte Cristo” teases that Max will ask the important questions (She always knows what people want to know!) about how the two characters know each other.

As if that complicated history doesn’t create enough tension, “The Accountant of Monte Cristo” finds Ellis and Max in their most challenging case yet.

Ellis’s old friend calls on him to help her get back an infamous accountant who is kidnapped before they can testify against the mob.

It seems like Max may call in another favor with her father because this episode of Wild Cards will feature another guest appearance by Jason Priestly. Perhaps the reluctant partnership reaches out to George before Chief Li reminds Ellis and Max to play by the book — or that visit could be what inspires Li’s comments.
