Alec faces off with the man convicted of setting the church bombing 20 years ago on The IrrationalSeason 1 Episode 10, “Bombshell.”
We’ve reached the penultimate episode of The Irrational Season 1, and it promises to be a dramatic one. Not only because of what the preview material teases, but also because it was initially set to be the season finale.

The series had to halt production midway through filming Season 1 due to the strikes which makes it hard to say how much of “Bombshell” was written before they upped the season to eleven episodes.
It’s possible that the additional episode was added because when writing resumed, they realized they needed more time to wrap things up. It’s also possible that “Bombshell” was mostly written, or at least mapped out before the episode was added, meaning this episode will have the intensity of a finale.
Either way, it promises a lot of exciting development for Alec and the gang even before we know what the episode is about. Then, of course, there is the preview material that hints at what will actually happen on the episode.
Most dramatically, the man who was convicted of blowing up the church and causing Alec’s injuries escapes and confronts Alec. Are the revelations he might drop during the confrontation the bombshells the episode title refers to?
Elsewhere on the episode, viewers will get to see more of Marisa and Kylie together as they work to save Alec, Pheobe, and Rizwan. Even Jace gets a moment to be the hero with a big discovery about the case.
