Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of October 8th! Our picks this week include some exciting premieres, memorable new episodes, and a few spooky additions. 

This week we feature Archer, The Fall of the House of Usher, Lessons in Chemistry, and more!

Family Guy – Sunday, October 8th

Lois pushes Peter to take on a new job due to the brewery being closed for construction. However, he gets a job at a grocery store, which causes issues in their relationship. Family Guy airs Sunday, October 8th at 9:30/8:30c on FOX.

Episode Description: With the brewery under construction, Lois implores Peter to take a new job, but grows irate when he begins work at the grocery store; armed with his police stories, Joe and Brian team up to write their own true crime novel.

Krapopolis – Sunday, October 8th

Shlub and Stupendous travel to the cyclopes island in order to find Stupendous’ dad. Meanwhile, Prometheus is released from eternity on the rock by Tyrannis and Hippocampus. Krapopolis airs Sunday, October 8th at 8:30/7:30c on FOX.

Episode Description: Tyrannis and Hippocampus release the only god they like, Prometheus, from his eternity on the rock, only to find he’s friends with Deliria; Shlub takes Stupendous to the cyclopes island to find her dad.

The Irrational – Monday, October 9th

Professor Mercer and the team are tasked with investigating a plane crash in the Potomac River. The Irrational airs Monday, October 9th at 10/9c on NBC.

Episode Description: After a passenger plane crashes into the Potomac River, suspicions focus on the pilot; Professor Mercer and the team are asked to investigate the pilot’s personal motivations and piece together clues in the hopes of revealing the truth.

The Matthew Shepard Story: An American Hate Crime – Monday, October 9th

It’s been 25 years since one of the most horrific hate crimes America has ever seen — the death of Matthew Shepard. Years later, his death is a stark reminder of just how far our country still needs to go toward acceptance. The Matthew Shepard Story: An American Hate Crime airs Monday, October 9th at 9/8c on ID.

Film Description: Twenty-five years ago, Matthew Shepard was tied to a fence and beaten; days later, the unthinkable happened and his death sparked a national outcry for hate crimes protections; his story is a dark reminder that the fight against hate continues.

Found – Tuesday, October 10th

Gabi Moseley and her team work against the clock to find the most vulnerable of missing people. Behind the scenes, Gabi remains in contact with her previous kidnapper in order to find these people. Found airs Tuesday, October 10th at 10/9c on NBC.

Season Description: In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. Of these reported cases, more than half of the missing people are people of color, too easily neglected by the system. Gabi Mosely, a former missing person herself, now specializes in PR and leads a crisis management team that seeks out these missing people. But unbeknownst to anyone, Mosely is hiding a dark secret of her own.

Archer – Wednesday, October 11th

Archer relies on a former adversary to lend him a helping hand as the gang bonds over stopping a fleet of killer drones. Archer airs Wednesday, October 11th at 10/9c on FX.

Episode Description: A former adversary lends a hand as Archer and the gang bond together to try and stop a fleet of killer drones.

Nada – Wednesday, October 11th

Robert De Niro stars in this new Hulu series about an older gentleman who seeks out the help of a young woman from Paraguay when his maid of 40 years passes away. Nada premieres Wednesday, October 11th on Hulu.

Series Description: An iconic bon vivant, who barely has enough resources to maintain his affluent lifestyle, hires a young woman from Paraguay to replace the recently deceased maid who took care of him for more than 40 years.

Frasier – Thursday, October 12th

Secrets of the Usher family come to light when the heirs of a powerful dynasty start dying. This puts siblings Roderick and Madeline on the defensive to save their family. The Fall of the House of Usher premieres Thursday, October 12th on Netflix.

Creepshow – Friday, October 13th

The Season 4 premiere of the anthology series boasts new exciting monsters and horror. This season will see horror legend, Tom Atkins take on a few roles of note. Creepshow premieres Friday, October 13th at 9/8c 0n AMC, Shudder, and AMC+.

Series Description: An anthology horror series based on the 1982 movie features vignettes that explore terror, murder, the supernatural and the unexplainable.

Goosebumps – Friday, October 13th

Based on the famous book series and the ’90s TV series, this Disney+ reboot follows a group of teens as they handle supernatural forces. Goosebumps premieres Friday, October 13th on Disney+. 

Series Description: A group of five high schoolers unleash supernatural forces upon their town, now they must work together in order to save it.

Shining Vale – Friday, October 13th

Pat and Terry are back and with them comes the typical issues of mental illness, menopause, and trauma as they try to reconnect their broken family in a haunted Connecticut home. Shining Vale premieres Friday, October 13th on Starz.

Season Description: Pat (Cox) and Terry (Kinnear) Phelps struggle with reconnecting their broken family, mental illness, menopause and trauma, as their Connecticut home continues to reveal more of its haunted past. Additionally, the spouses must battle their demons both internally and externally. And of course, Rosemary (Mira Sorvino) is back and lurking in the shadows.

Elizabeth Zott has a dream of being a scientist, but it’s the 1950s, and women are expected to be housewives. To meet in the middle, she takes a position on a TV cooking show. Lessons in Chemistry premieres Friday, October 13th on Apple TV+.

Series Description: In the 1950s, Elizabeth Zott’s dream of being a scientist is challenged by a society that says women belong in the domestic sphere; she accepts a job on a TV cooking show and sets out to teach a nation of housewives way more than recipes.
