Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of October 1st! Our picks this week include some exciting fall premieres as well as a few bittersweet finales. 

This week we feature Ahsoka, SurrealEstate, Our Flag Means Death, and more!

Here are our recommendations for what to watch on TV this week:

The Simpsons – Sunday, October 1st

Homer finds himself unsatisfied at his 9 to 5 job, so he takes up school crossing guard duties to fill the void. That is until his safety squad becomes a force to be feared due to excessive funding. The Simpsons premieres Sunday, October 1st at 8/7c on FOX.

Episode Description: Feeling worthless at work, Homer volunteers to be a school crossing guard; when Homer’s safety squad receives too much funding, the crossing guards become a force to be feared.

Bob’s Burgers – Sunday, October 1st

A family showdown commences when Linda and Bob suggest to the kids they should do some chores. Bob’s Burgers premieres Sunday, October 1st at 9/8c on FOX.

Family Guy – Sunday, October 1st

When Bruce and Jeffrey fail to pick up the baby, the whole family has to deal with caring for the infant. Family Guy premieres Sunday, October 1st at 9:30/8:30c on FOX.

Episode Description: Meg agrees to be Bruce and Jeffery’s surrogate, causing a pregnant Meg to annoy her family; when the couple fails to pick up the baby, the Griffins must take care of their new family member.

The Irrational – Monday, October 2nd

CJ, an old friend of Professor Mercer, is poisoned with a rare and deadly nerve agent. She turns to him for help piecing together the clues. The Irrational airs Monday, October 2nd at 10/9c on NBC.

Episode Description: Professor Mercer is approached by his old friend CJ, a prominent investigative journalist who asks for help after she’s poisoned with a rare and deadly nerve agent; with time running out, Mercer pieces together scant clues.

Ahsoka – Tuesday, October 3rd

In the concluding episode, Ahsoka, Sabine, and Ezra must face off against Thrawn as he attempts to play out his daring escape from exile. Meanwhile, Baylan’s true intentions have yet to be revealed. Ahsoka Season 1 finale airs Tuesday, October 3rd at 9/8c on Disney+.

Series Description: Former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

Found – Tuesday, October 3rd

Shanola Hampton plays Gabi Mosely, who leads a crisis management team on the search for missing people. Under their watch, no one will be left behind or forgotten. Found premieres Tuesday, October 3rd at 10/9c on NBC. 

Series Description: In any given year, more than 600,000 people are reported missing in the U.S. Public relations specialist Gabi Mosely and her crisis management team now make sure there is always someone looking out for the forgotten missing people.

Only Murders in the Building – Tuesday, October 3rd

Opening night has finally arrived for Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, who race to catch the killer. The show must go on, and it does, even when there is chaos reigning all around the stage. Only Murders in the Building Season 3 finale airs Tuesday, October 3rd on Hulu.

Episode Description: Charles, Mabel and Oliver race to entrap the killer on opening night; as the musical thrills its Broadway audience, the trio brave further twists and turns from behind, above and all around the stage.

SurrealEstate – Wednesday, October 4th

After an extremely long hiatus, this paranormal drama returns for its second outing. Luke is struggling to handle a property while Susan becomes enamored with a home that contains a special power. SurrealEstate premieres Wednesday, October 4th at 10/9c on SyFy.

Chucky – Wednesday, October 4th

Chucky takes on the White House and finds himself a new “friend ’til the end.” Meanwhile, the search for Caroline commences with Jake, Devon, and Lexy at the helm. Chucky premieres Wednesday, October 4th at 9/8c on SyFy.

Quantum Leap – Wednesday, October 4th

Ben expects to leap home but instead ends up aboard a top-secret military flight in 1978. Ben and the crew discover a sobering truth about the mission when the flight comes under attack. Quantum Leap premieres Wednesday, October 4th at 8/7c on NBC.

Episode Description: Instead of leaping home as expected, Ben finds himself in 1978 aboard a top-secret military flight, transporting mysterious cargo; when the flight comes under attack, Ben and the crew discover the sobering truth behind their mission.

Loki – Thursday, October 5th

Loki is in a battle for his very soul with the Time Variance Authority as Season 2 gets underway. Alongside Mobius, Hunter B-15, and some other new and returning characters, Loki searches for the truth. Loki premieres Thursday, October 5th on Disney+. 

Season Description: Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

Our Flag Means Death – Thursday, October 5th

Stede Bonnet manages to make it back to the majority of his crew, and they set off to find their ship and Ed on Season 2 of this fan-favorite pirate romcom series. Our Flag Means Death premieres Thursday, October 5th on Max.

Season Description: Our Flag Means Death is based (very) loosely on the true adventures of 18th century would-be pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby). After trading the seemingly charmed life of a gentleman for one of a swashbuckling buccaneer, Stede became captain of the pirate ship Revenge. Struggling to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew, Stede’s fortunes changed after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard (Taika Waititi). To their surprise, the wildly different Stede and Blackbeard found more than friendship on the high seas…they found love. Now, they have to survive it.

The Continental – Friday, October 6th

The final stand between Winston and Cormac commences on the Continental grounds. With many warriors at their side, the two men battle it out for the seat on the throne — manager of the esteemed hotel. The Continental Season 1 finale airs Friday, October 6th on Peacock.

Episode Description: In the final action-packed night, Winston’s all-out revenge plan is revealed as he looks to take over the NYC crime operation with plans to transform the Continental from outdated safe house into the upscale destination of John Wick fame.

The Wheel of Time – Friday, October 6th

Everyone is converging on Farm for one big showdown against the Forsaken. The Wheel of Time Season 2 finale airs Friday, October 6th on Peacock.

Season Description: Though Rand thought he destroyed the Dark One, evil is not gone from the world. In Season Two, threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength.
