Buffy the Vampire Slayer, created by Joss Whedon, originally aired from 1997 to 2003 and left a significant mark on pop culture.
The show follows Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar), a seemingly ordinary teenage girl who is actually the Slayer — the Chosen One destined to battle vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness.
Set in the fictional town of Sunnydale, Buffy and her loyal gang, including Willow (Alyson Hannigan), Xander (Nicholas Brendon), Giles (Anthony Stewart Head), and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), confront everything from ancient evil entities to high school drama and various love triangles.
Oh, and they saved the world a few times, too.
They also have help from a vampire with a soul, Angel (David Boreanaz), and as the series moves forward, new relationships and new friends make their gang change and grow.
With its complex characters, witty dialogue, and powerful themes, Buffy the Vampire Slayer remains a timeless classic that continues to captivate audiences.
The series recently inspired an Audible Original Drama set in the world of the Buffyverse, Slayers: A Buffyverse Story, reuniting several original cast members. Now, there’s also a reboot in the works, which will feature Sarah Michelle Gellar.
