Ben finds himself in the heart of the 1992 Los Angeles riots on Quantum Leap Season 2 Episode 5, “One Night in Koreatown,”
For his latest mission, Ben leaps into the body of a young man whose father’s shoe store gets caught up in the violence of the L.A. riots. This is only the second time Quantum Leap has used such a well-known historical event as a catalyst for its case of the week.

The first time was another California event when Ben had to save a family during the 1989 San Francisco earthquake on Quantum Leap. Season 1 Episode 6, “What a Disaster.” “What a Disaster” was a fast-paced episode heavy on action.
Judging by “One Night in Koreatown’s” preview photos and promo, that is again the case. In addition to the tense action, Ben’s mission on “What a Disaster” also ended up being a deeply personal one.
We don’t know yet if this mission will hit close to home for Ben the way the “What a Disaster” mission did. We do know, however, that it will be personal for Magic, who is taking Addison’s place as Ben’s hologram for this mission.
Are you looking forward to seeing Magic take a turn as Ben’s hologram? What sort of personal connection to the riots do you think he has?
Check out the photos and promo video below for a preview!
