With a dash of mystery sprinkled in, My Lovely Liar sounds like it has the recipe for a great K-drama romance.
Knowing when someone is lying sounds like an extremely useful skill, but for Mok Sol Hee (River Where the Moon Rises‘ Kim So Hyun), it’s a curse preventing her from ever trusting anyone.
However, when she meets her new neighbor, Kim Do Ha (Alchemy of Souls‘ Hwang Min Hyun), she learns that she’s unable to tell when he’s lying. Mok Sol Hee tries to figure out if Kim Do Ha simply never lies, or if there are bigger forces at play bringing them together.

Episode description: In My Lovely Liar, Mok Sol Hee (Kim So Hyun) has a special ability that allows her to distinguish whether people are lying or not. She hates her ability and views it as a curse. Because of her special ability, she is unable to trust anyone. But that all changes when she meets a successful music producer named Kim Do Ha (Hwang Min Hyun). Kim Do Ha has become embroiled in a murder case and has gone into hiding in the residence next door to Mok Sol Hee. The producer’s closest friend Jo Deuk Chan (Yoon Ji On), the head of the talent agency J Entertainment, is the only person who knows Kim Do Ha’s secret. But Mok Sol Hee is in for a shock when she realizes that her new neighbor appears to be the only person in the world her superpower does not work on. She becomes drawn to this mystery man — but will she ever learn the deepest secrets of his heart?
