The Wheel of Time Season 2 Trailer Released by Prime Video
Over a year later, it’s nearly time to escape back into Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time.
The Wheel of Time‘s second outing is based on the second novel in Robert Jordan’s hit fantasy book series, The Great Hunt, and will also incorporate elements from the third novel, The Dragon Reborn.
The new footage comes on the heels of sneak-peek images released by Entertainment Weekly, who confirmed when the trailer would release.

The Wheel of Time‘s Season 2 trailer shows the characters facing the deadly threat of growing darkness now that the Dark One is free.
Rosamund Pike’s Moiraine Damodred is determined to protect and guide Josha Stradowski’s Rand al’Thor now that she knows he is The Dragon Reborn — “a dangerous figure from history destined to save the world … or break it.”
As Siuan Sanche presumably reminds Moiraine, “You can’t control him,” which makes The Wheel of Time‘s trailer being set to Halsey’s “Control” all the more fitting.
That ill-fated possibility doesn’t stop the Aes Sedai from trying to get Rand to face his power as the Last Battle approaches.

Per its logline, Season 2 sees “threats new and very old seek out the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered over the world. The woman who found and guided them is now powerless to help, and so they must find other sources of strength. In each other, or themselves. In the Light … or the Dark.”
The Wheel of Time‘s trailer also gives sneak peeks at the introduction of fan-favorite characters from Jordan’s books, including Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, Aviendha, and Lady Suroth.
The trailer’s timing also ushers the return of The Wheel of Time‘s #WOTWednesdays, where weekly assets and news about Season 1 will break every Wednesday moving forward — through the season’s premiere on September 1 and beyond.
The Wheel of Time also stars Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Dónal Finn as Mat Cauthon. The fantasy show’s second season was filmed in the Czech Republic, Morocco, and Italy.

Co-produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, The Wheel of Time made a three-episode series debut on Prime Video in November 2021. The Wheel of Time Season 1 Episode 8, “The Eye of the World,” aka the season’s finale, streamed in December 2021.
Prime Video greenlit a second season of the fantasy series in May 2021 — ahead of its debut and at the end of its Season 1 production. The Wheel of Time has already been renewed for a third season at Prime Video, as reported in July 2022.
Executive producer and showrunner Rafe Judkins adapted The Wheel of Time for TV. Rosamund Pike also serves as a co-executive producer.
Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of iwot productions, Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Mike Weber, Darren Lemke, Marigo Kehoe, Justine Juel Gillmer, Sanaa Hamri, and Amanda Kate Shumanalso serve as executive producers. Harriet McDougal, Brandon Sanderson, and Lauren Selig are consulting producers.
