Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of June 4th! Our picks this week include some exciting season premieres and a couple of TV episodes of note.

This week we feature Cruel Summer, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Never Have I Ever, and more!

The Lazurus Project – Sunday, June 4th

Follow George as he tries to get out of a time loop, causing him to relive the same day over and over. As he discovers this new reality is more than meets the eye, he begins a journey to create good. The Lazurus Project premieres Sunday, June 4th at 9/8c on TNT.

Series Description: George thinks he is beginning to lose touch with reality when he finds himself living the same day, over and over again. A chance encounter with a man called Archie reveals that George is very much in touch with reality, but that reality can be stranger than fiction. With George’s newfound understanding of his power and perception of space-time, he is forced to choose between loyalty to an organisation trying to save the world and the ability to rewrite the past for a friend.

The Idol – Sunday, June 4th

Jocelyn is on the verge of a momentous return when a leaked photo threatens all that. A chance encounter with Tedros could set her right. The Idol premieres Sunday, June 4th at 9/8c on HBO and Max.

Episode Description: As Jocelyn preps for her triumphant return, a leaked photo sends her team into crisis mode just as a journalist arrives to do an in-depth profile on her; Jocelyn has a chance encounter with nightclub owner Tedros.

Gotham Knights – Tuesday, June 6th

It’s all about family and the past when Duela has a birthday reunion with her mom, Stephanie is forced to choose between her family and her passion, and Harvey finds himself face-to-face with his past. Gotham Knights airs Tuesday, June 6th at 9/8c on The CW.

Episode Description: Duela’s birthday reunion with her mom, Jane Doe, unearths some shocking information that will irrevocably change her. Meanwhile, Stephanie is forced to choose between her family and the Knights, putting her at odds with Harper. Finally, Harvey finds himself on a collision course with someone from his past.

Somewhere Boy – Wednesday, June 7th

This UK transplant makes its US debut with stars Lewis Gribben, Samuel Bottomley, and Rory Keenan. When Danny was a baby, his mother dies causing his father to shut them both away from the world until Danny enters the world at large on his 18th birthday. Somewhere Boy premieres Wednesday, June 7th on Hulu.

Series Description: When Danny was a baby, his mum was killed in a car crash. Overwhelmed with grief, his dad bought a house in the middle of nowhere and locked Danny in, telling him that the world outside was full of monsters waiting to take him away. Just like they took his mum. For 18 years, they just stayed in, listening to records and watching old movies with no sad endings. But when Danny turns 18, his whole world explodes in an instant, and he has to come to terms with a new world he never knew existed.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia – Wednesday, June 7th

Back for an unprecedented Season 16, the gang has a solution against economic inflation, and Dee finds she needs a new place to live. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 16 premieres Wednesday, June 7th at 10/9c on FX.

Episode Description: Dennis and Mac get into inflatable furniture to deal with the economy’s inflation; Dee tries to find a place to crash after being evicted by her greedy landlord; Charlie wants to pitch Frank his investment idea.

Never Have I Ever – Thursday, June 8th

It’s Devi’s final year of high school, and some big decisions loom before her — both romantic and academic. Never Have I Ever Season 4 premieres Thursday, June 8th on Netflix.

Season Description: Season 4 promises the culmination of all of Devi’s internal exploration, growth, and ambition with a firecracker delivery similar to Devi’s own personality.

When a gruesome serial killer starts preying on the residents of Los Angeles, a washed-up tennis star and his wife decide it would be a great opportunity for them to gain some attention from true crime groupies. Based on a True Story premieres Thursday, June 8th on Peacock.

Episode Description: A washed-up tennis star and his realtor wife must work together to make ends meet as a gruesome serial killer preys on innocent people in Los Angeles.

The Playing Card Killer – Friday, June 9th

This thrilling Netflix docuseries follows the 2003 serial murders that plagued Spain. The killer would leave behind a playing card to let investigators know he’d been there. The Playing Card Killer premieres Friday, June 9th on Netflix.

Series Description: A playing card left at a murder scene connects a string of killings in this docuseries tracking a notorious serial killer who terrorized Spain in 2003.

The Crowded Room – Friday, June 9th

Tom Holland makes his TV debut on this Apple TV+ series about a falsely accused man, an unlikely investigator, and the true criminal during an action-packed Manhattan summer in 1979. The Crowded Room premieres Friday, June 9th on Apple TV+.

Inspiring America: The 2023 Inspiration List – Saturday, June 10th

Among the honorees for this year’s event, which highlights those in the world doing good for others, are Eva Longoria, Reba McEntire, and LeBron James. Inspiring America: The 2023 Inspiration List airs Saturday, June 10th at 8/7c on NBC.

Event Description: This year’s list features some well-known personalities and everyday people who are doing their best to make a difference.
