Preview — Alaska Daily Season 1 Episode 9: Rush to Judgement
An arrest is made in Gloria’s case but doubts still linger for Roz and Eileen on Alaska Daily Season 1 Episode 9, “Rush to Judgement.”
On Alaska Daily Season 1 Episode 8, “Tell a Reporter Not to Do Something and Suddenly It’s a Party,” Roz and Eileen get authorities to test DNA they previously failed to. The pair believed it would point to Gloria’s sadistic pastor as the prime suspect.
In an unexpected twist, though, the DNA instead pointed to Gloria’s friend Toby. Viewers may remember Toby from earlier in the season. He was one of Roz and Eileen’s first leads. However, they had long since moved on from him as a potential suspect.
The new evidence leads to Toby’s arrest on “Rush to Judgement,” rocketing the case to national headlines and bringing a media circus to Anchorage.
Between the frenzied press coverage and some questionable behavior by the authorities to get a confession, Roz and Eileen have serious doubts about the developing narrative. Roz even questions their role in the case and the quick assumption that Toby is guilty.
Elsewhere on the episode, Austin and Claire continue to look into the paper’s now former owner Conrad Pritchard. The paper may no longer be in danger of being sold, but Conrad’s story isn’t over just yet.
