AMC Planning Immortal Universe Crossover For ‘Interview with the Vampire’ and ‘Mayfair Witches’
The Anne Rice Cinematic Universe is alive and thriving in the capable hands of AMC.
The network is in the thick of adapting Rice’s bestselling books, with Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches kicking off the Immortal Universe franchise.
And now a TV crossover between the two series is officially underway.

Executive Producer of the dueling series, Mark Johnson, announced plans for a crossover at AMC’s TCA press tour and confirmed there have been “ongoing conversations” on the matter.
With a classic gothic lens and a lively New Orleans atmosphere at their core, both supernatural dramas stand to cultivate quite the cohesive brand for AMC. It is something Johnson believes is a priority across all shows.
“You’ll see a lot of connections, both in terms of characters, in terms of geography,” he explained.
“Almost like Easter eggs. We very much want to tie the worlds together in a way that makes sense. Of course, they’re completely separate on the one hand, but thematically and in terms of how Anne Rice deals with character, we want to find a way to have that flow throughout the various shows.”

According to Variety, Johnson later elaborated on the existence of both shows, expressing hope to see the storylines go beyond Easter eggs to “significant influences from characters from one world coming into another.”
That said, it appears there is already a small crossover planned for Mayfair Witches.
Showrunner Esta Spalding revealed there is a character who appears in both series, connecting them “in a strange way.”

One thing’s for sure, AMC will give Rice fans plenty to sink their teeth into.
The network acquired the author’s major literary works in 2020, with The Vampire Chronicles and The Lives of the Mayfair Witches series consisting of 18 adaptable titles.
Interview with the Vampire was renewed ahead of its October 2nd premiere for a second season, and Mayfair Witches premiered January 8 with episodes currently airing Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
Off the cusp of Fear the Walking Dead‘s cancellation, it would seem the era of the zombie is giving way to new immortal beings.
