What to Watch on TV: One Chicago, Doom Patrol, and Law & Order: SVU
Welcome to a new week and another round of What to Watch on TV for the week of December 4th! We’ll be sharing our picks for what to watch this week, from long-awaited premieres to tearful goodbyes we don’t really want to say.
This week we feature One Chicago, Doom Patrol, Law & Order: SVU, and more!

HouseBroken – Sunday, December 4th

Everyone’s favorite animal group therapy sessions are back! Honey and her friends are all ready for more adventures around their exciting neighborhood. HouseBroken premieres Sunday, December 4th at 9/8c on FOX.
Episode Description: Honey’s holiday wish comes true when a mix-up at the vet sends her to a dream home, while her idiotic doppelganger goes to live with Chief. Meanwhile, Max has to hide from his new owner David Spade when he discovers that Spade wants to make him the holiday ham. Then, in the next half hour, Honey and Chief are home alone for the holidays, and when a mysterious intruder tries to break in, they team up with Raccoon to protect the family home. Meanwhile, Chico experiences hunger for the first time, and Elsa falls in love with a robot dog.
The Rookie – Sunday, December 4th
After a month off, The Rookie is back with an exciting 2-hour special event. Get ready to catch two new episodes with Officer Nolan and the team, which will also serve as the show’s midseason finale. The Rookie airs Sunday, December 4th at 9/8c on ABC.
Episode 8 Description: Officers John Nolan and Celina Juarez are in a race against time to stop the source of an explosive rampage.
Episode 9 Description: Officer John Nolan and the team investigate the unexpected death of a suspect in police custody. Their search also uncovers a very delicate loose end that could jeopardize Officer Celina Juarez’s career. Meanwhile, Sergeant Grey and his wife, Luna, go to New York to visit their daughter, Dominique, only to realize she never made it home from the night before.
His Dark Materials – Monday, December 5th

After two very long years, the third and final season of this epic fantasy series returns. This season follows Lyra and Will on a journey to a dark place where no one has returned. His Dark Materials premieres Monday, December 5th on HBO Max.
Season Description: Based on “The Amber Spyglass,” the final novel in Philip Pullman’s award-winning trilogy, in the final chapter of this epic fantasy series, Lyra (Dafne Keen), the prophesied child, and Will (Amir Wilson), the bearer of The Subtle Knife, must journey to a dark place from which no one has ever returned. As her father’s great war against the Authority edges closer, they will learn that saving the worlds comes at a terrible price.
The Resident – Tuesday, December 6th
Gigi is reunited with her grandfather on a midseason finale you don’t want to miss. Conrad must face Nic’s father for the first time in years when he comes in for medical attention. The Resident airs Tuesday, December 6th at 8/7c on FOX.
Episode Description: Conrad comes face to face with Nic’s dad when he comes into Chastain with an extremely low heart rate; Billie advises her patient against surgery, but the patient’s family ignores her recommendation.
Monarch – Tuesday, December 6th
The explosive Season 1 finale is finally here. The family needs to come together when an arrest is finally made in the murder and Kayla goes into early labor. Monarch airs Tuesday, December 6th at 9/8c on FOX.
Episode Description: An arrest is made in the murder; Albie is desperate for the family to come together; Jamie opens up about his past to Nicky; Kayla goes into early labor; Gigi airs the Romans’ dirty laundry; Catt continues to oppose Ace and Ana’s friendship.
Stargirl – Wednesday, December 7th

Stargirl Season 3 comes to an end in a big way. Courtney and the JSA are up against their biggest threat yet, will they be victorious? Stargirl airs Wednesday, December 7th at 8/7c on The CW.

The Mysterious Benedict Society – Wednesday, December 7th
The children and their adult companions have to once again fight off danger, even at a haven from Number 2’s past. They’ve been successful against foes before, so this should be a piece of cake… right? The Mysterious Benedict Society airs Wednesday, December 7th on Disney+.
Episode Description: Banding together to stave off disaster at a haven from Number Two’s past.
One Chicago – Wednesday, December 7th
It is fall finale night for One Chicago. Each show promises excitement around every turn and cliffhangers to keep you guessing until their return in January. One Chicago airs Wednesday, December 7th starting at 8/7c on NBC.
Chicago Med Description: Will relies on Crockett and Med’s newly donated OR 2.0 to save his patient. Charles helps an elderly confused patient who’s mourning the loss of his high school sweetheart.
Chicago Fire Description: Severide struggles with the cost of helping Det. Pryma with the Martucci case. Gallo campaigns for Herrmann to represent 51 at the National Firefighter’s Association’s Winter Conference. A familiar face makes a shocking return.
Chicago PD Description: After a shocking discovery, the team begins closing in on Sean O’Neal with every shred of evidence they can find. Determined to keep his son out of prison, Chief O’Neal hires a lawyer.
Doom Patrol – Thursday, December 8th

Another exciting season of superheroes is upon us when Doom Patrol returns for Season 4. This season is filled with excitement from the future and many big-name guest stars like Brendan Fraser and Matt Bomer. Doom Patrol premieres Thursday, December 8th on HBO Max.
Season Description: Season Four opens with the team unexpectedly traveling to the future to find an unwelcome surprise. Faced with their imminent demise, the Doom Patrol must decide once and for all which is more important: their own happiness or the fate of the world?
Law & Order: SVU – Thursday, December 8th

Since Season 12, Detective Amanda Rollins has taken NYC by storm with her southern charm and her equally big heart. Unfortunately, she’s now decided that she needs to take a step back from Special Victims in order to focus on her daughters, which we can’t hate her for even if we don’t want to see her go. Law & Order: SVU airs Thursday, December 8th at 9/8c on NBC.
Episode Description: Carisi and Rollins work together on an important arraignment; Benson tries to make Noah’s Christmas wish come true when a case falls in her lap.
Blue Bloods – Friday, December 9th
The struggles between the NYPD and the Mayor’s Office continue when an off-duty cop goes too far making a political statement during the midseason finale. The Reagan family continues to find opposition everywhere they turn as anti-cop sentiments rise. Blue Bloods airs Friday, December 9th at 10/9c on CBS.
Episode Description: Danny crosses paths with a criminal from a previous case when he investigates a gang attack with a shocking motive; Frank and Mayor Chase butt heads over an off-duty cop who goes too far making a political statement.
Christmas Class Reunion – Saturday, December 10th
Get ready to pull out the festive decor with this Hallmark movie aimed to get you in the nostalgic Christmas spirit. Aimeé Teegarden stars as Elle, the class Valedictorian trying to plan the perfect 15-year high school reunion. Christmas Class Reunion airs Saturday, December 10th at 8/7c on Hallmark.
Movie Description: Valedictorian Elle is determined to host a perfect 15-year high school reunion. She’s looking forward to seeing her high school crush Kam, but she finds unexpected support in bad boy Devin. Starring Aimeé Teegarden and Tanner Novlan.
