‘The L Word: Generation Q’ Promotes Jamie Clayton to Series Regular and Adds Four Guest Stars
The L Word: Generation Q has some exciting news for fans looking forward to Season 3. A beloved character played by Jamie Clayton will become a series regular, and four new guest stars will join the series.
When Season 3 premieres on Showtime in November, fans will be able to see much more of Tess Van De Berg, the bar manager, now that Clayton is a series regular.
This promotion opens the door for The L Word: Generation Q to further explore Tess’ addiction and sobriety. Alongside Clayton, who has recurred on the series for the last two seasons, TV Line reports that there will be four new guest stars on Season 3.

The impressive line-up of guest stars even includes one in which the performer will play herself. So, Margaret Cho will join Alice’s show as a guest host during Season 3.
As a comedic genius, seeing what Cho brings to the show and what she brings out in the rest of the characters will be fun.
Additionally, singer and songwriter Kehlani will be making an appearance as well. Kehlani shared her excitement about the announcement on Instagram.
The award-winning singer will play Ivy, “a makeup artist and young parent,” on Alice’s glam team. TV Line reports that Ivy will fall for the wrong person.

Deadline reports that Joey Lauren Adams (previously seen on Grey’s Anatomy) and Joanna Cassidy (previously seen on Six Feet Under) are the other two names joining The L Word: Generation Q Season 3.
Joey Lauren Adams joins as Taylor, “a salt-of-the-earth, self-deprecating barista with a secret passion.” Meanwhile, Joanna Cassidy will play Patty, “Tess’s mom and a former Las Vegas showgirl currently suffering from MS and dementia.”
The L Word: Generation Q is all about showing a new generation of queer people living their lives. In doing so, the Showtime series often gives voice to characters other shows don’t.
It’s only a few short months until the series showcases how these new additions contribute to that.
